Inuyasha POV

I walked behind Kouga as we walked to the elders den near the back of the caves. Shippo sat/laid across my shoulder as we maid our way there. "Heads up Mutt our Elders are not the nicest. They're only nice to their mates and pups. So don't be surprised if they be little you or hit a nerve." Said Kouga looking at me. I could see in his eyes he looked sorry and almost apologetic. I nodded. "It wouldn't be the first or last I've been like that. If you recall I am a hanyou." I say back at him which causes him to laugh.  "Yeah that's true. If anyone can stand tall to them, that would be you Inuyasha." 

We arrive at a cave opening that covered by deer pelts as curtains. Kouga walks in first and I follow suite after a few moments pass. I look to see the five wolves seating in a row before us. I could tell they were the elders by how they sat and held themselves. A few scuffed at me when they saw me but said nothing. We bow before the elders as they do the same to us. "Glad to see you made it back Kouga, but I see you brought an outsider." Said one the elders. His fur was pure white. He seemed to be the eldest so he sat in the middle. 

The one to his right spoke next. She had a small moon mark in her fur against her cheeks. Her fur was brown with that one spot of white. "Kyoma, behave yourself. Do you not remember that outsider once helped Kouga save our pack from the birds of paradise." She spoke. "Ohh Yes I must agree with Ayumi. He was the one that welds the Tessaiga that once belonged to the great dog demon." Said a wolf in blue fur.  Kyoma looks down at me with an intense glare, but I don't stand down. "And how did such a strong weapon fall into the hands of a hanyou?"

I looked at Kouga who just smirked and ushered for me to explain. I sighed and walked closer to them pulling out Tessaiga so they can all see it. "It's because that's my old man. He married my Human Mother and they had me before he passed. He entrusted me with his strongest sword because I would be the only one to wield it for I had their hearts. No one else not even Sesshomaru can wield this sword for he does not share our Fathers heart." And with that I put Tessaiga away. "Tessaiga can only be wielded to protect those the wielder cares about, for its strength lies within it and the wielder. If the sword senses you have bad intentions it wont hesitate to burn/electric shock you away from it with its barrier. Does that answer your question council?" I say the last part in a snarky remark. 

They say nothing as I walk back to Kouga side. I can tell he's holding himself back from laughing from that display. Kyoma coughs softly and regains himself back to before. "I see, but may I ask why you brought him here Kouga? If he is the Great Dog Demon's son why bring him here and not to his land?" He asked. "He and his older brother do not see eye to eye. Sesshomaru resistant him for getting the sword and his mother being human. Also winter will be coming soon and he has no place to stay and has a child with him. It's against what I know as an Alpha male to make a comrade die from frost and a child to die so young as well. He will only be with us until he finds a home for them both during spring, unless he wishes by then to stay. It is completely up to him."I felt my face heat up a little at the last part. It in a way sounded as if Kouga wanted me to stay, but that can't be true... Can it??

 At that point Shippo came up from the back of my hair and waves softly. A few of the elders awed while some nodded. "Very well. He and his pup may stay here, but as we are full with no rooms they will have to sleep in your quarters until their room is built out." Said Kyoma. "I understand, that will not be a problem as I have plenty of room to spare."Says Kouga as he bows. "Good, now then onto our other matter. Kouga have you found a mate yet? Our pack needs more strong warriors from the Alpha. You are close to your first mating season so we must act fast in finding you a mate." Says Ayumi. "If you haven't we have found one for yo-." "That won't be necessary council. I wish to invoke my right to the 3 new moons act. It says I get 3 new moons to find my one true mate, but if I fail I will go with the one you elders choose."

"Are you sure about this Kouga once they agree to it you can't back out." I say looking at him. "I'm more sure about this than anything Inuyasha. Besides it's either I fight for my right to love in 3 months or let them choose someone for me in 3 months. Either way when spring comes with the first full moon of mating season I will either take my mate or theirs."Says Kouga with confidants as he looks at the elders. 

"So be it Kouga, we will allow your request to find your true mate. But come spring you will be mated to someone, and now then meeting adjourned!"Yells the elders as the room fills with darkness. Kouga grabs my hand and leads us back out to the cave. He is still holding my hand as we walk back to his friends. "So how'd it go?" Asked Ginta he seems to notice that Kouga is still holding my hand and smirks a bit. I look to the side and say nothing. I couldn't even if I wanted to him holding my hand just felt so right and my heart was pounding like crazy. I don't know how Kouga wasn't feeling my pulse in his hand as well.

"It went okay, Inuyasha and Shippo are welcomed to the pack. They will have to learn to help out around the caves to earn their keep." Said Kouga to which they nod. "And where will they be staying?" Asked Hakkaku with a smirk as well. Is everybody gonna notice before he does? How dense can this wolf be? I felt my face heat up more as they looked at us more. "Ohh they'll be living with me in my part of the den till theirs is built." He says casually, but those words made my heart flutter. It was when he said it himself that it sunk in. I'll be sleeping in the same room as Kouga.

"Good to know. Hey Kouga do you think you can help me go catch some meat while Genta shows Inuyasha around and shows him what he'll be doing?"Says Hakkaku as he grabs Kouga's other hand and pulls him away from me. I let out a small whine unconsciously from the lose of Kouga's hand against mine, but the only ones to hear it is Genta and Shippo. I could hear Kouga yelling as Hakkaku drags him away. I then felt some wrap their arm around my back. I look to see a smirking know-it-all Genta. "Soooo~~ You like Kouga huh Inuyasha??"He asks. I say nothing but my slight blush must say it all. "If you say a word about this or Hakkaku I will personally rip both of your tails off and shove them down your throats. " I threaten looking at him dead in the eye.

"Don't worry we won't say a thing, but that doesn't mean we won't tease you about it or help you." Says Genta. "What do you mean?" I ask. "We'll help you to win the heart of our Alpha. It's what we do. Now come on I'm gonna introduce you to everyone and teach you what you need to know."He grabs my upper arm and drags me away. 

"And welcome to your new home Inuyasha~!"
