The time they spent in the village made Inuyasha happy and the villagers. They were happy to have some extra hands getting some extra firewood and repairing some roofs/walls that seemed to leak the cold winter air. Himiko also helped Kaede with making some medicine for the villagers who were catching colds or fevers. Kaede seemed to enjoy her new coat as it helped make it easier for her to stay out longer to help people or gather more materials that only come out in the winter season. Kagome was very interested in helping out Kaeda and learning from her about the herbs. As time passed for Kagome she found that she loved tending to plants and learning about them. In her own time, she has decided to go to college to study plant-based medicine. She wants to also be able to one day be able to bring the plants from the past to the future since some no longer exist. Once she required the knowledge needed she wants to bring them back to life in her time, but even stronger and more resilient. This is why she's learning all she can now and saving some samples to help with this dream down the line.

As the pair walked back to the village with the herbs they had just plucked they could hear some yelling in the village. As they got closer to the center of the village the yelling became clearer. It was a mixture of yelling and cheering. Once they finally got to the center what they saw were a few dead boars surrounding Inuyasha and Kouga. The cheering was from the villagers happy to have so much food to eat for the next few nights, and the other two yelled about who had the better catch. Miroku was between them trying to defuse the situation, but Kagome could just tell by looking at them they were poking fun at each other. Kagome just sighed and walked over to the couple and smiled at them. "Okay, boys knock it off the both of you. You can both have your play-fighting fun later." Teased Kagome who let out a small laugh. This caused them both to blush as they looked at her before turning their backs to the other. 

"Sh-Shut up Kagome! We weren't doing that at all." Exclaimed Inuyasha and Kouga nodded in agreement. Kagome shrugged at that but smiled as she looked at her friends. "Whatever you say boys, but instead of play fighting how about you both hurry and help get dinner ready? Since you both got so much the villagers will need help separating it all. You both better hurry if you both want to leave before it gets too late." Said Kagome as she made her way back to Kaede. She smiled softly as the boys agreed and followed after her so they could finish up the last of the packing. She watched as they ran past her as she looked at them in enjoyment. "I'm so happy you both found the one to bring joy to your worlds. I wish nothing but the best for you both in the years to come." Said Kagome. Miroku pats his hand on her shoulder gently. "That I can agree with Lady Kagome. They have both been through a lot and deserve the happiness they have found in one another." Said Miroku.

*A few hours later*

The hours come and go as fast as they arrived for the two love birds.  They finished helping to give the village their share of the food and pelts from the hunt the two had done while Kagome looked over Shippo. She was even kind enough to help pack up the rest of the items the boys needed for their alone time. "Alright, we are packed up and ready to go." Said Kouga as he picked up the red version of the "backpack" Kagome brings from her world. Kouga then bows in front of Kagome and Kaeda. "I also thank you for looking after Shippo for us while we are gone." Kaede smile and pats the top of Kouga's head. "Think nothing of it, Lord Kouga. You and Inuyasha please be safe in your travels to your destination." Said Kaede. Kouga stands up nodding his head as his tail wags a little. "Yes Ma'am we will!" Said Kouga with a toothy grin. Inuyasha smiled as he hugged Shippo goodbye.  "You better be on your best behavior and we'll be back soon." Said Inuyasha. "I know and I will Dad. Good luck with the bonding with Kouga." Said Shippo. Inuyasha nodded as Kouga grabbed his hand to pull him towards himself. "Let's get going Inuyasha before the sun gets too far down. We have about a few hours before we get there on foot." Said Kouga. Inuyasha nods as he waves bye to everyone Kouga starts to run ahead a bit before Inuyasha. Inuyasha seeing this starts taking off in a run to catch up yelling out to the wolf while those left behind shake their heads before returning inside Kaeda's hut.
