Not Only in My Dreams

Chapter 6

Rosalie's POV

My siblings all came home with smirks on their faces.

"Hey rose! You're never going to believe what happened today!" Alice says hopping up and down in front of me. I roll my eyes and give her a weak smile, "What happened Alice?"

"She's a total badass Rose" Emmett filled in "she defended all of us in front of an entire hallway of kids and the best part was she blew up right when Eric started insulting you"

I knew instantly they were referring to Y/N.  I didn't know how I felt about her so that put me on edge. "So, why's that so important?"

Alice just rolled her eyes and walked away shaking her head while Emmett just chuckled at me.

"You know if you'd just open your eyes and your heart you could be happy right now"

His words hurt my non beating heart. He knew how lonely I was. We used to be together until he found jess and now I am more alone than ever. But she can't be it. Y/N is a she and she's human. I don't want to make her become what I am just because of me.

***Next day***

I decided I was going to go to school today. I can't avoid her forever but that doesn't mean I have to let her get close to me.

I pull up in the parking lot next to my siblings and hop out. We stand there talking like normal until Y/N pulls in. Emmett instantly has a huge smile on his face and walks over to her throwing his arm around her.

I don't know why but I start growling. I feel a hand on my shoulder and it's jess. She gives me a knowing look before we head into the school.

Lunch came faster than I thought. Emmett brought Y/N over to our table. I stood up rather abruptly and left the cafeteria. I couldn't deal with her right now. I don't know why she drives me so insane. I could hear her asking Emmett if she did something to upset me as I left.

School passed by quickly like most days. I was heading out of the School, entranced by my phone because Alice kept texting me all this shit about how she had a vision about my mate but she won't tell me who it is. So fucking frustrating.

I heard screeching tires on the pavement, I instantly looked up..

Y/N POV

I was walking out of the school when I noticed a certain blonde that seems to hate me right now. I wanted to ask her what I had done wrong. I was about 10 feet away when I heard screeching sounds of a tire.

I look up to see Tyler's van sliding straight towards Rosalie but she wasn't getting out of the way. I ran towards her and slammed into her to get her to move off to the side.

Tyler's van missed us by a foot.  Holy shit it feels like he hit me. It feels like I hit a brick wall. It's hard for me to breathe. I was suddenly scared that Rosalie was hurt so I rolled over quickly and looked at her to see her staring back at me with a look of fear, confusion, and anger.

"What the hell did you just do?" She grits at me.

"Um I saw the van coming towards you so I pushed you out of the way. Are you okay?? Are you hurt??" I say clutching my ribs.

"I'm fine" she says still giving me the same look.

People are already on the phone calling 911 when I suddenly black out.

**LATER**

I wake up to see Rosalie sleeping with her head on the side of the hospital bed I'm in, and she is...holding my hand? What the hell.

I think she heard me stirring because she is waking up too.

"Hey" I stutter.

"Hi" she says bluntly taking her hand from mine.

"Are you mad at me? Have I done something to piss you off?"

"No?"

"Then why are you giving me the cold shoulder ? Why did you look pissed when I pushed you out of the way??" I ranted.

"Because! You drive me insane! I can't stop thinking about you and that scares me. Because you put yourself in danger to save me, you idiot!"

"Well I'm sorry that I bother you so much" I said sarcastically, "the least you could do is thank me"

"Thank you" she said as equally as sassy and stormed out of the room.

I dropped my head down on the pillow with a sigh. A minute later the doctor came in. He had blonde hair, strong facial structure, and... gold eyes.

What the shit is up with forks and gold eyes!?

"Hello I'm Dr. Carlisle Cullen. Emmett has told me all about you" he smiles warmly "you seem to have suffered a few injuries during your fall. Two hairline fractures on your ribs and some bruising, but other than that I'll think you'll live"

I chuckle "so Rosalie is your daughter?"

"Yes she is. Thank you for protecting her today by the way." He turns to walk out.

"Always" I whisper.

Carlisle's POV

"Always" she whispers.

I smile to myself knowing that she thinks I can't hear her. Walking out the door I see Rosalie looking tense.

"I think I messed up" she says finally looking at me "she's my mate. That's why I was mad when Emmett was all over her and when she risked her life to save me... Carlisle what do I do? She thinks I hate her"

"Show her you care about her. But maybe you can start with being nice to her. Being friends first can't hurt." I tell her while placing my hand on her shoulder. I walk away to carry on the rest of my day hoping Rosalie listens to my advice.
