Rosalie's POV

I feel nothing but fear for my mate and hatred towards the nomad who hurt her. I'm just trying to keep my focus long enough on protecting Y/N so that I don't go back and watch that bastard burn to ashes.

We finally reach the house, Carlisle gently lays Y/N down on the operating table we got just in case something like this would happen. After he ran a few tests more than a half hour had gone by. "Carlisle." I groaned as I took her hand and silently pleaded for her eyes to open and her heart rate to get stronger. "Tell me she is going to be okay. I need her to be okay."

"Rosalie. She suffered from five broken ribs apparently from being shoved into the tree, several cerebral edema's and she lost a lot of her blood from the cut she inflicted on herself." he spoke softly. "The venom has run through her veins too long for me to do anything about it."

"What are you saying?"

"There are three ways this could play out. She could wake up healthy and safe however she will be a vampire. She could wake up as a vampire and not have any recollection of her human life.... like Alice did."

"SHE DIDN'T EVEN GET TO CHOSE" I screamed. What if she can't remember me? What if she hates me for allowing this to happen to her and not protecting her? Wait. He said there were three options. The third had to be better than those two right?? "Carlisle. What was the third way?" I asked sternly. The dim look in his eyes told me the third option was most definitely not better.

"Her body could reject the venom and she would most likely die of the injuries she obtained." he said.

"After all of this? She could die?? I thought you were a doctor and could fix people!??"

"Since I am not able to treat her while the venom is still running its course I most likely will not be able to treat her in time. I will do everything in my power to make sure that it won't happen, but I think it's best if you knew the possibility. I am sorry Rosalie but you should say goodbye just in case." He says with a hand on my shoulder. Then he slowly walks out of the room and gently shuts the door behind him.

"You listen here Y/N Y/M/N Y/L/N, you are not allowed to die on me. I am here. I am waiting. And you better not leave me." I cry as much as a vampire can into her shoulder still clutching her hand.

Nobody's POV

Vampires are immortal. To live for eternity. It sounds great and it is if you have your mate to spend it with. But these past few days for Rosalie have felt like an eternity in hell. Watching the reason for your entire existence laying on a bed seemingly lifeless and there is nothing you could do about it is the most torture a mated vampire could ever experience in Rosalie's opinion. Though she still hasn't left her side. Not even for a second.

There is a soft click of the door opening from behind Rosalie. "Rosalie, honey, you need to go hunt. It's been eight days and her vitals have been stable." Esme says gently. Rosalie turns to her with the saddest eyes she has ever seen on her adoptive daughters face. "I will stay here with her and call you if anything changes. Emmett is waiting downstairs to go with you. I promise I will look after her."

Rosalie turns back to her mate. Silently showing her love through a squeeze of the hand and listening intently to her very faint heartbeat. She hasn't changed in days. Her heart beat hasn't gotten quieter or louder. I don't know whether to be thankful or terrified that there has been no changes. Most transitions only take about 3-4 days.

"Okay, but we won't go far" Rosalie says softly. She reaches down to plant a soft kiss on Y/n forehead. "I'll be back, love."

And with that Rosalie somewhat reluctantly left her mate to go hunting with Emmett. Esme promised to not leave Y/N's side until she got back.

Rosalie caught a mountain lion and was quenching her thirst and Emmett found a bear nearby. They both met somewhere on their way back to the house and since they hadn't received a call from Esme, they casually walked taking their time cleaning up and relishing being outside again.

Out of no where Emmett's phone started buzzing. Rosalie hadn't been charging hers for the past eight days which Esme had found out after the numerous attempts at contacting her. "Yes?" Emmett answered. They both stopped, Rosalie looking into Emmets eyes for any concern. "We are on our way."

That's all it took for both vampires to start back to the house as fast as they could to get back to Rosalie's mate. A million visions of what had happened were running through Rosalie's head as she ran through the front door speeding into the room where she left her mate.
