As the chariot pulled into the garage of the Training Center, I leapt out and took off my shoes. I raced to the elevator so I wouldn’t have to ride it up with the other tributes. I pressed the four and listed to the soft music the speaker on the ceiling was playing. I stepped out and went to a room marked ‘Female Tribute’. River’s room was next to mine. Despite that fact that I loved the design of my dress, I still hated dresses. I carefully tore it off my body and hung it up.  I threw on an outfit almost identical to the one I wore on the train. I laid out on my bed until I heard a knock on the door. “Come in!”

Finnick came into my room. “Hey Waterlily! That was some performance you had out there!”

“Thanks,” I blushed.

“Well, it’s time to eat. This time you can mingle with the other tributes, learn about them, start alliances, and make May and I very happy.”

I slid off the bed and pulled some shoes on. I followed Finnick out the door and found River and May waiting for the elevator. We all stepped on together. “What do you think they’re going to have for dinner?”

River shrugged. “I don’t even know what we had on the train! I hope we have fish though, I love fish.”

“I love fish too. Fish would be good since we never have it at home.”

The doors opened and we stepped into a large eating room full of tributes and mentors. I recognized some of the mentors from recent games and one that had been mentors forever, for example, Haymitch the District Twelve mentor. He was the only living victor from the district. I hate to say it, but District Twelve is a lost cause.

I step in line behind a small girl she was gripping the hand of the boy in front of her that looked about my age. The boy was big and looked strong and durable. I followed them through the line and to a table. “Can I sit here with you?”

The boy looked up and scanned me. “Sure. District Four right?”

I nodded and sat down next to the girl. “Waterlily See. What’s your name?”

“I’m Woody Birk and this is my little sister Willow. We are from District Seven.”

“Well it’s nice to meet you!” I hand landed on my shoulder and I looked back quickly. “Hey River! Want to sit with us?”

“I was just going to suggest we sit with the careers. They will be our group members.”

“I’m going to stay here. I’ll sit with the careers tomorrow.”

“Okay then.” River turned and left the table and sat down at one at the other side of the room. I turned my attention back to my table.

“District partner right?” I asked Woody.

“Yeah.”

“Probably should have gone with him. Careers don’t typically like other careers making friends with other tributes. You can still go over.”

“That’s okay. I like you two. I’ll just stay here. Maybe someone else will show up.” As if on cue, another boy came up to the table. Like Woody, he was very muscular.

“There space for me here?”

I looked over at Woody. “I think there is.” Woody nodded and the boy sat down.

“I’m Moose Little. I’m a cattle herder in District Ten.” We went around the table and introduced ourselves.  We talked for a while, trying to avoid the topic of the games. These people I felt like I could trust them. The two boys looked strong. I would watch them in the training center in the morning and see how they did performance wise. Hopefully they would be good and I could ally with them, but of course I would have to ally with the careers, it was practically a rule.

Just so you know, this is not only for the Watty Awards, but also NaNoWriMo, so i need all the support i can get.

Thanks to everyone that is actually reading this and I am so sorry my writing is so bad, I'll try to go through and edit again soon.
