I watched the rest of the tributes, but I wasn’t really paying attention. Jared’s arm was warm around my back. I knew he hated the games and would never watch something like this. “You can go Jared.”

“You don’t want me here?”

“Sure I want you here. I just want you to feel you have to be here.”

“It was my choice to stay wasn’t it?”

“Yeah, I guess it was.”

He had such a huge grin on his face. We both turned back to the TV. As the summaries went on, I felt Jared coming closer to me, but I paid no attention. As District Twelve finished, Jared was so close to me that I didn’t have to move my head very far for it to be resting on his shoulder. Is that what he wanted me to do? I sat looking at the TV trying not to think about it, scooting over an inch. Within few minutes, he was back as close as he had been before. I stood up and circled the couch to the kitchen and grabbed a cup. I stepped over to the sink. I waited as the water trickled into the cup. Once the cup was full, I walked back into the room. I sat down on the floor a few feet away from the couch and looked back up to the TV. Once the Capitol news show finished, Jared got up.

“Well, I guess I better go.”

I nodded. “They’ll definitely need your help out there.”

“Yeah,” I could see a sort of sadness in his eyes. He probably thought I didn’t love him, which I did, it was just way too fast. I smiled. He smiled back at me, then turned to the door and left. Oh Jared. Trying so hard, but not good enough. It’s quality, not quantity here.

A/N:

Sorry for the short chapter, it seems I've hit some sort of block, a writers' one maybe...

On a good note though, I have even more planned now than I did before, you just won't read any of it for a while, since it's later in the story.

Also, I need your help! For those of you that are keeping up with this book, which is probably no one sadly, I need you to answer this question: What special award should I enter this story in? Here is a list of possible ones:

Best Trailer

Best Book Cover

Best Overall Cast

Best Male Character-Which one?

Best Female Character-Which one?

Best Hero-Waterlily?

Best Villan-Ethelreda?

Most Imaginitive Setting-for arena

Best Title

Most Wanted Big Screen Adaption

Best Jaw Dropping Scene-Hasn't been written yet

Hopefully some of you will read this and help. Also, if you have read 'The Schoolhouse Fires', I need a catagory for that one too.

Thanks!

Ella
