“Good morning Panem! I hope you all had a nice fulfilling sleep.

“During the night, we had two tributes killed in their sleep.”

I shot up. What is better way to wake up then to find out two people are already dead?

“The two tributes from district one, Ruby and Emerald, were killed by Ethelreda during the night. The other career, River narrowly escaped, running into the woods.

“That is all we have for our recap, enjoy the games!”

I sighed, pulling myself out of the bed. I dragged myself over to the set of drawers and pulled out a tunic and pants. I pulled them on and went out to the kitchen. I briefly looked at the TV screen, but the only person on was a tribute who was running. I grabbed a piece of bread and took a bite out of it. I slumped down on the couch. Mornings were so boring when I didn’t have to work. And without Waterlily, it was even more boring,

A knock interrupted my thoughts and the door creaked open. Jared peaked around the door. “You there Mist?”

“Yeah, I’m here.” He opened the door all the way, walking in and plummeting down on the couch next to me.

“I didn’t miss seeing Waterlily right?” Jared’s arm snacked around my back, pulling me into his chest.

“Not yet, at least I haven’t seen her yet.”

“Good, looks like us talking about her brought her up.”

I turned to the screen and sure enough, the camera was showing Waterlily’s camp. Her alliance was just waking up. Waterlily looked around for some time and then asked the non-injured boy a question. He nodded and she went to their supply stack and pulled out a match. She gathered a stack of wood and struck the match, lighting the pile on fire. She nodded to Willow before grabbing her spear and going to the pond. The camera followed her to the pond. She sat in silence just as we always did, the only difference was there was no one else there. After a minute she swiftly threw the spear into the water and pulled it out again, a large fish speared directly through the eye, just as normal. She pulled it off perfectly, setting it beside her. She threw the spear in again and pulled out another fish. After she had four, she went back to the camp. The little girl took one and Waterlily showed her how to skin the fish. The girl imitated Waterlily’s motions unil she had skinned the whole thing. She carefully took the meat off and put it onto the spear. The two boys had cut two tree branches into holders for the spear so they didn’t have to hold it while it cooked.

It didn’t take Waterlily too long to finish skinning her second fish, and not too much longer for the girl to finish skinning her second one either. Waterlily placed the spear of meat onto the sticks and turned to her alliance.

The scene changed, but before it did, I saw a pair of golden orbs in the corner of the screen.
