“Waterlily!” I screamed, tears running down my face. Jared pulled my closer, trying to mute my cries. “No! Waterlily!”
“Congratulations to the victor of the 73rd annual Hunger Games: Ethelreda Rosamundi!”
“No!” I tried to get up, but Jared held me down. Tears streamed down Willow’s face. Waterlily, Jared, her father, her little brother and I meant everything to her and now she had lost two of us.
But I had lost all three of my family members. I had no one left.
“Why Jared, why? Why did she have to die? She made it so far!”
“I don’t know Mist, I really don’t,” his voice was soft, trying to sooth me, but they couldn’t, they wouldn’t. Nothing would ever help me recover from my pain, except one thing. No matter how long it took. No matter how bad it was, there was only one thing that would make me feel better.
“Jared, let’s go get the armies ready. They need to be trained more.”
“What?”
“The armies, the troops, we need them ready. We need to start soon.”
“Already? I though you weren’t going to lead them.”
“I am now, and you are my partner.”
“I don’t think I’m quite qualified for that though. Are you sure you can handle it?”
“Yes Jared. We need to. I am starting the rebellion.”
“Are you sure you know what you are doing?”
“Yes, this is the start of the rebellion.”

So, what did you think? I know the ending maybe felt a little rushed, but I will hopefull fix that soon. I plan to start editing this, then finish planning for The Invisible Past and Back to the Strokes which are both coming November 1st for NaNoWriMo and the Watty Awards 2013.
