“Mist, can we go watch the builders?” Trout asked. Her big eyes looking up at me.
“Sure thing Trout. Where in the district do you want to go to watch them?” I smiled; she had started talking a little more now and seemed a little happier. I loved watching her, she was just so sweet.
“Let’s go see Jared!”
“Jared?” I questioned, though he was another one of her friends.
“Yeah, can we not watch him?”
“No we can. Let’s go!” I grabbed my boots and put them on. Trout stood by the door, ready to go. I smiled as I put my hair in a ponytail. I opened the door and Trout followed me out. We walked down the street.
“So, what have you been doing lately?” She asked.
“Not much. Mostly just watching the Capitol News and trying to find out what’s happening with Waterlily.”
“Any news?”
“Just that the interviews are tomorrow night, but everyone knows that.”
“Oh yeah. What do you think she’s going to wear? Hopefully something very beautiful that attracts a whole bunch of those capitol people!”
“I hope so. She may be strong, but she will still need all the help she can get!”
“Have you gotten a lot of money yet?”
“Not much at all, only a few dollars. We might be able to afford a piece of bread, but that’s it.”
“I really hope you get more, we can’t send her just a piece of bread!”
“I know! One piece of bread is better than nothing though.”
Trout nodded, “Yeah.” We walked up to Jared’s house. It seemed rather empty. Trout knocked on the door, but no one answered.
“Maybe he went to go get more supplies,” I shrugged.
“Yeah, but his mother isn’t here either. Where could she be?”
“I don’t know Trout. She may have gone to the market.”
“True, let’s go there! I love to see the little shops.”
I nodded and we turned to go to the market. Even though Waterlily wasn’t here with us like normal, we could still have fun looking at all the different items, right?
