Today was an extraordinarily bad day for me.
I had woken up screaming from a nightmare, at 2 am. I had not been able to fall asleep since.
It was 6 now, and I had a small headache. It was an annoying feeling.
I tried one more time to fall asleep, squeezing my eyes shut for about 20 minutes, but it was useless.
When I opened my eyes I was no longer in my hospital room.
I don't even think I could consider this... place a room. It was white-ish gray, the edges were fuzzy as if it wasn't totally solid.
"Hello?"
A hand touched my shoulder and I jumped. "Hello Sara."
I couldn't speak, my mind was busy regaining memories. Pain, happiness, frustration, and relief clouded my thoughts. I stumbled to the side.
"Where am I? Why aren't I in my hospital room? Why do I remember everything?"
I turned to see a woman smiling at me. "Sara, you were never really there. Please, follow me" she grinned at me.
"No, I can't leave."
"Sara, sweetheart, please." I didn't know where I was going but I took a deep breath and grabbed her outstretched hand.
