Anna's POV
Ten days later here i was. At her wake.
It didn't seem real. I stood by her casket and stared down. I couldn't help but cry.
Her demands had been met, she didn't look like a hooker and even though half her head was shaved it still looked awesome. Of course she wore a pair of rocking heels.
A tall boy with blue eyes came up and stood next to me.
We stood in silence for a minute.
"How did you know her?"
"She was in the same hospital as me." The boy glanced down at her body.
"You... knew that she had..." I couldn't finish the sentence.
"Yeah. I thought she was going to pull through. Really I did."
"I didn't even know that she had... Do you have any idea why she didn't tell us?" I don't know why she wouldn't. She trusted us, right?
"I don't know exactly, no. But I can assume. She probably didn't want you to look at her differently."
"We wouldn't have!" Did I believe my words?
"Yeah, you would have. You wouldn't realize it but she would. She would be Sara the cancer patient instead of Sara your friend."
"But she told you." She barely even knew this kid and she told him? I shouldn't be mad at her, but I kind of was.
"I'm a... special case."
"Excuse me?"
"I have cancer too. I understand, and I couldn't treat her differently because I had just met her. There wouldn't have been a 'the way it was before' thing"
This boy knew Sara, and her secret.
"What's your name?"
"I'm Kyle, what's yours?"
"I'm Anna."
"She talked about you, I didn't think you were this tall. I mean a lot seemed tall to her. She was pretty short."
I looked up at him "Says the guy who happens to be like 6'1."
He shrugged "Yeah."
"She talked about us?"
"Most of the time she wouldn't shut up about you." I couldn't tell if he were trying to make me feel better or what. But it worked.
