This week went by extremely slowly. I didn't want to go back to the hospital today. But at the same time I did. .I wanted to talk to my doctors about stopping my chemotherapy.

I had brought up the subject to my parents and they were shocked. I was predicted to only have 3 to 4 weeks to live. I was not going to spend it surrounded my radiation. But they didn't even say it was a bad idea, they actually said it was okay.

I walked down the hallway, following closely behind my mother. Dr. Fretti stood outside a door to a room, she waved my mother inside "Sara, I have to talk to your mom privately for awhile okay?"

"Yeah, okay" I grinned at her

She closed the door and I looked around. There were nurses, doctors, and patients roaming the halls. Today looked busier than my past visits.

I sat down on a hard, uncomfortable chair near the nurses station. I hoped my mom wouldn't take back what she said about how this was a good idea.

I screamed and nearly jumped out of my chair when a hand touched my shoulder. I stood up and turned. "I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to scare you. Hi I'm Kyle Miller" He smiled brightly.

I tucked my hair behind my ear "Hi Kyle. I'm Sara Trithe." He was that hot guy. The one with those blue eyes.

"Hi Sara. Uh, sorry for startling you." he rubbed the back of his neck "I was just wondering if you know where the bathroom is?"

I glanced around the busy room. Immediately I spotted them, the sign was huge. How could he have missed it? "Yeah, they're right over there"

"Oh wow, I feel stupid for not noticing that. The sign couldn't get any bigger." He shook his head "At least I can blame my eyes"

"What'd you mean?"

"I have eye cancer. I can still see most stuff most of the time, they said I shouldn't go blind for a couple years, so that's good. How about you?"

"How about me what?"

"You're in the cancer wing. I've seen you here before too. Do you have...?" He trailed off awkwardly.

"Yeah I do. I have a tumor in my brain, they said I shouldn't die for a couple more weeks, so that's good." I attempted a joke.

His jaw nearly hit the floor. "You... I'm so sorry Sara."

"I would say it's okay, but it's really not. Yeah I'm trying to get my doctors to let me out of chemo. It's kind of pointless to do."

"Sara, first let me say thank you for helping me find the extremely obvious bathrooms. Second I'm so sorry. I hope you pull through somehow." He smiled at me.

"Thanks Kyle. So do I. So do I..." With that and a final wave he walked over to the bathroom.
