"THEY WHAT?" I screamed into the phone.
"I walked down our hallway and the had YOUR locker open and were taking stuff from it!"
"What? WHY?" I couldn't control my anger, annoyance, or fear right now.
What the hell? What in my locker was worthy enough for COPS to notice? TO TAKE?
"YOU TELL ME SARA? ITS YOUR LOCKER!"
"I DONT KNOW! I DONT HAVE ANYTHING BAD! I DONT DO ANYTHING BAD!"
Then I understood. Then I realized what they had. "CRAP!"
"What? Sara? WHAT DID YOU HAVE?"
"I HAVE TO GO! ILL EXPLAIN LATER!"
"NO! SARA TELL..." I pressed the end call button.
Izzy tried to call me a couple more times but I ignored it. How could this happen? CRAP!
I threw on a shirt and ran down the stairs "MOM!" She grabbed my shoulders.
"Sara I heard you yelling. What's going on?"
"The cops came to our school!" she shook her head.
"So what Sara? You don't have anything bad... do you?"
"No! no! But they think I do. My prescription! The pain meds, I forgot to give them to the nurse! THEY WERE IN MY LOCKER! THEY THINK IM POPPING PILLS!"
"Sara! Calm down! we can show them the prescription you have for them and you'll be cleared, it not a problem sweetie." She hugged me.
"But it IS a problem! Izzy SAW them take the meds from my locker! How am I supposed to explain that? I don't want to tell ANY of my friends!"
"It's okay, you're a smart girl. And a teenage girl." she looked down at me "Im sure your capable if coming up with a lie? You used to lie to me all the time."
I nodded, gears turning in my head. I could say I had an inhaler and the dog just flipped at that? Or that it was just Advil? I'm pretty sure a dog would smell any type of pills.

I walked in the door and was immediately escorted upstairs.
"Hello Ms. Trithe." the principal, who actually liked me but since I had pills in my locker probably not so much anymore, said stiffly.
"Hi." I pressed my lips together, he knew about my cancer right? He had to know.
"What you had in your locker today is... well a serious issue. These pills," he held up my meds "if you take too many could KILL you. Just like that." he snapped his fingers.
"I only have limited days anyway." I mumbled.
"What was that?"
Crap. "I didn't say anything?"
He sighed "I am very disappointed in you Sara. Very disappointed indeed."
"You shouldn't be. I'm fighting the good fight, and losing might I add." Woah. Did I just say that... TO MY PRINCIPAL?
"Excuse me?" his eyes bugged.
I held out my prescription "you don't know... do you?"
"Oh." he looked down at the slip of paper that authorized me to have those meds "Sara, what don't I know?"
"I have cancer. And I'm predicted to die in 3 to... I guess it's 1 to 2 weeks now." I felt tears form at the realization.
Maybe I should go through with the surgery? At least I would be alive.
I looked up when he didn't say anything. His mouth was hanging open, his eyes full of sympathy and surprise.
"If that's all sir, I'll be going now." I got up and walked out of the room, taking my pill bottle with me.
