Chapter 15

Explaining why she had been the only one on board the transport had been a fun conversation to have; especially when the ship was filled dead bodies, and she had had a blaster shoved in her face.

Aspen stood in front of a window, her eyes on the stars, just as they had been all those years ago. " The stars still fascinate me." She said when she felt the presence of Darth Vader. " You know, I never did tell you why." Aspen admitted. " I had so many opportunities, but the words failed me every time. I know that it wouldn't mean anything to you now, but I feel that you have a right to know."

Aspen turned to look at him, and found him watching her; her own eyes reflected back at her off the front of his mask. He said nothing as they stared at each other in silence before Aspen looked away. " My people are not born, more created, I guess is the better term; we aren't named either, so I guess you could say we're a lot like clones. My people are naturally gifted force users, so its very rare to come across one of who can't use it." Aspen explained. " We are given a purpose upon our creation, if we do not live up to that purpose we are stripped of everything; including our very lives."

" The day the queen was to choose an heir, I was assigned to protect the heir, even if it cost me my life. Raede and I were like sisters growing up, so it made it easy but over time we both found that nothing felt right. we both found ourselves wanting more then what they had planed for us, more then what they said we were meant for; so we ran."
