After work, you and Envy went out to dinner together. He wanted to treat you to something special. The dirty looks from everyone only seemed to get worse though. You felt it. You felt all the hatred from those glares.
Once dinner was over, Envy started to walk you home. Your mind wandered back to dinner that evening. One of the waiters...it was that strange boy.
He had smiled at you, but also acted like he had never met you before. He had sent a wink your way, something which Envy noticed. The boy certainly was strange.
After you got home, you felt wiped out. You had had a long day at work and really just wanted to go to sleep. Envy had gone out for a while and he had left you once you were in the apartment. Once you walked in, you heard the radio playing. Did you and Envy leave that on when you left? You didn't know and walked over to the radio. As you were about to turn it off, something caught your attention. You froze.
"Another body was found today. The body of a girl. She had been missing for a few days. Her body has turned up. It was found out near a river by a couple that had gone there for a date. The military is looking into it out." The radio announced.
Another dead body? You flicked the radio off. You didn't wanna hear anymore. You sat down on the couch. What was going on?
...
Envy finally came back. You had passed out on the couch and were now sleeping peacefully. He smiled softly and pat your head. To him, you were like an angel. He smiled as he held a small bag in his hand. Envy hid the bag in a place he knew you wouldn't find it. He kissed your cheek then carried you to your bed. He laid you down and then laid down next to you.
"Sleep tight. Sweet dreams. I love you." Envy said with a soft smile.
...
You woke up the next morning. You yawned and left the room to see Envy listening to the radio again. He hadn't noticed you so you stayed silent and listened.
"It seems that some evidence has been found at the crime scene. Investigators of the military are trying to use it to find the killer." The radio announced.
"Why are you listening to the radio?" You asked him. Envy looked at you surprised.
"You're up." Envy said.
You sighed. "Yes I'm up. Duh. Now why are you listening to the radio? Why do you want to listen to that stuff? It just makes me depressed." You said.
"Uhhhhhh." Envy looked at the radio then back at you. He stood up from the arm chair and smiled. "I want to know everything so I can be able to protect you. Keep an eye out if they find out and all." He smiled. You gave him a look, not buying his story, but you sighed and accepted it. Obviously you weren't gonna get anything out of him so you dropped the subject.
"Fine. I'm going out for some breakfast." You said and walked back to your room. Envy followed you.
Envy closed the door behind him and smiled at you. You turned to look at him and rolled your eyes.
"Out." You said. "I have to get changed."
"And I can't watch?" He smirked. You shoved his shoulder. "Rude."
"You can't watch! Now out." You yelled, not in the mood for him.
Envy grabbed you and pulled you close. He smirked and kissed you deeply and passionately. You were surprised then you closed your eyes and kissed back, wrapping your arms around his neck. He kissed deeper and licked your lips, requesting entry. You slowly opened your mouth as you both kissed with greater love. You made out for a while before breaking the kiss so you could breathe. You both were panting, a coy smile upon Envy's face. You blushed a lot and smiled shyly.
"How was THAT?" Envy laughed, proud.
You blushed harder. "It was as amazing as ever." You gave him a quick peck on the lips. "I love you, Envy."
"I love you too. Now how about WE go to breakfast together?" Envy smiles.
You laughed. "Fine, but let me change in peace."
"Awwwwww, okay. Not like I haven't already seen it." He smirked and walked out.
You blushed and got dressed then walked out. Envy was sitting on the couch, staring at the door. You started walking up to him, the floor boards creaking. Envy jumped when he heard your footsteps and quickly stuffed something into his shirt. He looked back at you and smiled.
"Ready to go?" Envy asked.
"What were you doing?" You asked, giving him a confused look.
"Just waiting. Let's go!" He opened the door and marched our. You followed him. Envy had been acting so strange lately and it worried you. Whenever you asked him about it though, he either made up some excuse or said it was nothing.
You walked beside him to a local diner. You looked over at him. The look on his face was strange. Envy seemed absolutely lost in thought. The expression on his face...it was full of worry and stress. You made a goofy face then poked his cheek. Envy looked at you.
"Yeah?" He asked.
"Whatcha thinking about, palm tree?" You asked.
Envy looked at you then seemed to notice something behind you. He stared at something that apparently passed by behind you. You turned back and saw nothing but the strange boy. Did Envy remember him from the restaurant? Was he just jealous? You shook your head as if to shake the thought away.
"So Envy?" You asked again. Envy seemed to be pulled from his thoughts.
"Uh, right. It's nothing. Just thinking about what I'm gonna get for breakfast." It was an obvious lie to you, but you didn't push it. If he's lying to you then he must have a damn good reason. You looked at him. He better have one.
...
That evening, you had gone out with Mustang and Hawkeye while Envy stayed back. He didn't want to hang around Mustang since he still wasn't the most friendly to Envy. Envy sighed, listening to the radio again. The radio seemed to blank out for a moment before coming back.
"I'd tell you to watch out, but it's inevitable. A killer is still a killer. A monster will always be a monster. They're coming for you." The radio said. Static overcame the radio then it went back to regular broadcasting. Envy stared at the radio.
"What...what was that?" He asked, freaked out. "What...is going on?"
It had been a week. Envy was still acting strange, but nothing much had happened. The military was still searching for the killer, a boy went missing then turned up a few days later. You sighed. Envy tuned into the radio every day just to hear about the killer. You started to think maybe he really was just looking out for you. He just wanted to know if they had caught the killer. You just decided to accept that.
You woke up and stretched. Envy was laying next to you, sleeping. You smiled softly at him and went to kiss him. Before you could plant a kiss upon his lips, a loud banging came to the door. You both jumped. Envy sat up immediately.
"What was that?!" Envy asked
"Someone's at the door. I'll get it." You started to get up.
"No! I will!" Envy said and rushed to the door opening it. You slowly walked out of the room and saw soldiers standing at the door. What does the military want? You thought.
"Envy, you're under arrest for the recent murders of the kidnapped boys and girls." One soldier said. Another soldier took out handcuffs.
"What? But I didn't do anything!"
"It can't be." You said. Your breath was taken away as your stomach began churning. Envy's...a killer?!
Heyo! Got it published! Sorry it's been a while. Inspiration has been low and I've been busy as hell. And sick. I was sick a couple times. Anyway, it's up now and all published. So enjoy!
