Days passed, you stayed locked away. Was this even worth your safety? You were let out only a few times every so often, but you never could go far. You felt like a puppy on a leash so tight and small that you couldn't even move a few inches. For what threat even? Envy? You still believed that he wouldn't do it especially since it seemed he was the scapegoat for those murders. You cried softly, curled up on your bed. "It''s for your own safety" yet you felt like you were being tortured and imprisoned. Your whole life felt like it was falling apart and you didn't even know who to blame for it. How did they even know Envy gave a threat? Envy wouldn't do that. He wouldn't. It had to be fake! Yet you couldn't exactly prove it since you were locked up as if you were a danger to society. Trapped in solitude for who knows how long?
The door opened up and in walked the infamous man himself, Joseph. He smiled so softly at you. You hid your face from his view, trying to hide your tear-stained cheeks. Taking a seat on the edge of your bed, Joseph gently put his hand on your head and began petting you. You said nothing, you did nothing, yet you hated how he touched you. You didn't want to be touched by anyone but Envy right now.
"Honey," His voice was gentle and soothing, yet it sounded like nails on a chalkboard to you, "don't worry, I'm right here."
You looked up and glared at him, "You aren't who I need." You hid your eyes again.
"You're not still in love with that damned murderer are you?" His tone turned vile. "He's coming here to kill you and I brought you here for your own safety."
"HE WOULDN'T KILL ME!!!!" You shouted, head fully raised and tears flowing once again. "HE LOVES ME!!" Joseph started laughing at your outburst. Your glare hardened as he simply laughing in your face obnoxiously.
"Honey, he is a killer! He doesn't give a shit about you. His love was a lie and he's going to kill you." Joseph gave you a look that was all too familiar. That cocky smirk that Envy wore all the time back when you two were enemies. A condescending, cocky smirk that showed a monster beneath a lovely face. You stared at him, shocked to see a monster before you. But even though he had that same look that Envy once had, you saw nothing but darkness behind Joseph's countenance. Eyes widening, you moved back away from him. "You'll come over to my side soon enough, my sweet little honey~." Joseph moved closer and gently stroked your cheek. He leaned in close, knowing you could move away no more. He gently kissed your cheek then pulled up.
"Now then, darling, you get some rest. You'll need it for what will happen once that damned monster is finally brought to justice. Once you're safe, we can..." His words trailed off, finishing with a sick chuckle. "See you later, my dear~" he said as he left you, the doors being locked once more.
You sat there shaking, horrified by the monster that had just been touching you. A cold monster with calculated emotions. You felt sick suddenly. Covering your mouth, you continued to cry. This couldn't be reality anymore. How did you ever end up in this situation? Everything was so perfect before and now...now what? The world truly was crumbling to pieces and all because you wanted to give love to someone that never had it. All of this, it was your fault, and that made you feel worse.
