AS LUCK WOULD HAVE IT, LYDIA HAD ALSO INVITED JACKSON TO MOVIE NIGHT. Adelyn didn't really mind him some days, but most the time, he was a colossal douche. She didn't really like third wheeling for them, not like for Scott and Allison. Jackson was arguing with Lydia about the movie. Adelyn knew they were just going to watch the same one again anyways, not understanding why he even tried.
"Hoosiers is not only the best basketball movie ever. It is the best sports movie ever made." The boy argued as they rolled to a stop, Adelyn sighed in annoyance.
"No." Lydia denied immediately. She wanted to watch The Notebook, the usual.
"It's got Gene Hackman and Dennis Hopper." Lydia denied again. "Lydia, I swear to God-you're gonna like it."
He got turned down once more. "I am not watching The Notebook again." He grumbled and Lydia stared at him blankly. He mumbled something incoherently. He looked at Adelyn for help, but she shrugged. He pushed the door open. "Come help me find it, Tate."
She crawled over the seat and hopped out of the car, the two walking into the store together. The girl took note of the disheveled appearance of the building, a ladder being in the middle of the room and a phone call going unanswered. "Can anyone help us find The Notebook?" Jackson asked no one in particular.
When he doesn't receive a reply, Adelyn called out again. "Hello?"
"Is anybody working here?" Jackson asked once more. "You have got to be kidding me." The boy stated much quieter.
Adelyn's eyes widened as the smell of blood hit her. She pushed past Jackson and towards the ladder. She looked around the shelf and saw the worker with blood covering his neck. The Tate let out a quiet gasp, her hand coming up to her mouth. Jackson noticed, walking up behind her and spotting the pool of blood as well. He tugged the girl backward, bumping into the ladder and making it fall. The lights went out, leaving them in the dark. There was growling, causing the teens to look towards the entrance.
Adelyn pulled Jackson behind a shelf, hiding the two of them. The lights continued to flash as he peered around the corner. He pulled back hastily, having spotted something. There was a thud, it causing some of the movies fall on the pair. Adelyn grabbed onto a specific one, it being The Notebook, and rolled her eyes. The shelves began to fall and Jackson quickly grabbed Addy, pushing her out of the isle. "Jackson!"
He doesn't get so lucky. The boy's legs get caught under the shelf. Adelyn back away silently as the giant werewolf stalked towards him. She covered her mouth with her hand and pushed her knees to her chest. The creature looked at the Tate, it's attention falling to her. The girl shook with fear as tears welled up in her eyes.
She was fucking terrified.
The werewolf growls at her, before running toward the window and busing out of the video store. Adelyn heard Lydia scream as she pushed herself off the ground to help Jackson. Her entire body continued to shake as she approached the boy under the shelves.
