「THIRTY ONE」

SCOTT, STILES, AND ADELYN QUICKLY LEFT THE PARTY AND WERE NOW TRYING TO CONVINCE STILES' FATHER THAT MATT WAS THE KILLER. They all had seen Matt with the Kanima, and now all they had to do was make the sheriff believe them without telling him about supernatural creatures.

Easy enough, right?

Addy had always wondered how the sheriff hadn't found out yet, considering he was usually at all the crime scenes caused by supernatural creatures. She didn't know how he was able overlook the detail, seeing as it was a rather large one, and his son happened to be in the middle of it all.

"This kid is the real killer?" Noah pointed at the picture of Matt that his son had found in the yearbook. All the teens said yes, "No."

"Dad, come on." Stiles stated, much firmer this time as he stood from his seat. "Everybody knows that the police look for ways to connect victims in a murder, okay? So all you have to do is look through their transcripts and figure out which class they all had in common."

"Yeah, expect for the fact that the rave promoter, Kara, wasn't in Harris' class." The sheriff waved him off, trying to get him to stop pushing.

"You're right, sorry, then I guess the dropped the charges against him?" Stiles inquired semi-sarcastically. Adelyn and Scott gave each other a look, not knowing where this was going to go.

"No, you know what? They're not dropping the charges. But that doesn't prove anything." Stiles stuck his hands out dramatically, looking back at his friends for help. "Scott, Addy, do you believe this?"

"It's really hard to explain how we know this, but you just gotta trust us." The McCall reasoned, Adelyn nodding in agreement. "We know it's Matt."

"Yeah, he took Harris' car, okay? Look, he knew that if a cop found tire tracks at one of the murders, and that if enough of the victims were in Harris' class, they'd arrest him."

"All right, fine. I'll allow the remote possibility, but give me a motive. I mean, why would this kid want most of the 2006 swim team and its coach dead?" Noah inquired, not understanding why Matt would want kill the swim team. The trio hadn't really thought about it either.

"Isn't it obvious?" Stiles stuck his hands out, confusing the couple as they had no idea what he was going to say next. "Our swim team sucks! They haven't won in, like, six years. Okay, we don't have a motive yet. I mean, come on, does Harris?" 

"Does it help if I tell you he's been stalking Allison?" Adelyn piped in, sticking her head over Stiles' shoulder. All three of them looked at her with a concerned look, "Like I mean, pictures on his camera, stalking."

"Yes, it does, but what do you want me to do?" He looked from the girl back to his son, shrugging slightly in defeat.

"We need to look at the evidence." Scott responded, his friends nodding along.
