ADELYN HAD TRACKED DEREK'S SCENT BACK TO AN ABANDONED SUBWAY STATION. Normally, she'd just text him, but he hadn't been responding very quickly and it was getting on her nerves. She walked into the building, assuming that's where he had been hiding out. She walked in, the scent of the Alpha growing stronger. She slowly made her way down the stairs, not really getting why Derek didn't just buy an apartment. The place was dimly lit, an empty train sat in the middle of the building. To be fair, the place screamed 'Derek Hale'.
"We need to talk."
At her words, the Hale appeared in the doorway of the train cart. "About?"
"Well, we can talk about what you told Isaac, considering he avoided me at school all day." She started, pointing her finger at him. She was kind of offended that the boy didn't want to talk to her.
"Did you tell Scott?"
"Why do you ask that every time we have a conversation? It's like you're scared he'll disapprove or something, which he would, but no, I didn't tell Scott." She threw her hands up in exasperation, clearly not understanding why Derek thought she had the need to tell the boy everything. She knew some things were better left unsaid, especially when it came to the McCall boy.
"I ask you that because you'd think that you actually talk about werewolf things with your werewolf boyfriend." Derek replied snidely, leaning against the doorway and crossing his arms. It was quiet for a few seconds, Adelyn wondering if she had heard him right.
"He's not my boyfriend." Adelyn rebutted, rolling her eyes. She sighed heavily, now aware that Derek knew they had a thing. But they weren't dating, not yet.
The Alpha rose his eyebrows and tilted his head. "Sure, he isn't." He relented sarcastically. He smiled, knowing he had managed to annoy her already.
Derek loved getting on her nerves.
"Shut up. Could you please just answer my question?" The beta grumbled, trying to get the conversation back on track.
"Well, I told him about werewolves." Derek deadpanned, understanding that's not the answer she was looking for when she laughed. "What?"
"Clearly, you told him about werewolves, dumbass. What did he say?" Adelyn pinched the bridge of her nose, her annoyance growing by the second.
"Well, he wanted it." Derek stated, "He wanted the bite." Her shoulders dropped and before she could say anything, the Alpha continued. "Before you get mad at me, I told him about the hunters, about full moons, everything. He still wanted it." He shrugged at her confused glance, knowing that if Isaac wanted her to know his reasons, he'd tell her.
"Derek!" The aforementioned new werewolf ran down the stairs into the hideout, startling both wolves.
"What's wrong?" He questioned as Isaac slowed to a stop, catching his breath. He looked between his Alpha and Adelyn. The teens stared at each other for a moment, Isaac's eyes almost instinctively flashing at her. Addy squinted at him, confused by the action. Derek snapped his fingers, drawing Isaac's attention as he motioned for the beta to continue.
