Third Person POV
Virgil sat in the room wearing his usual attire besides a purple and blue cloak. Roman dashed towards him and hugged him. Melissa leaned against the door watching the one be suffocated by the other. She laughed in a sad tone. Anxiety noticed. His eyes were locked on her as Roman hugged him for an uncomfortable amount of time. She turned away. This room had too many memories for her and the two traits were tainting her already dreadful memories of the room.
"Dreamy?" Virgil whispered.
The girl turned around and looked at him. Roman released Virgil from the hug. No one acknowledged the name being said.
"We need to get you out of here?" Roman said pulling at the chains hurting Virgil in the process.
"Do we really need to?" Melissa said once again turned away.
She watched out for guards. Anxiety couldn't understand what was going on. Why did he call him Melissa? He thought. Roman looked at her confused.
"He needs our help. As kids, we promised to help anyone who needed it." Roman gestured at Virgil.
"We made that as kids. Stupid, Naive kids."
"They escaped!" Someone yelled in the distance.
They all tensed up. Roman searched for something to break the chains. His eyes rested on Melissa.
"You need to break them," Roman said.
Melissa sunk to the floor. She wasn't going to listen. No one knew what was wrong with her. Roman smashed his shoe against the piece securing it to the ground. It budged.
"What's wrong with you?" Roman yelled as he takes his frustration out on the chains.
"This was my sister's room"
"Which one? you have a thousand" Roman continued abusing the chains. He knew very well who she was talking about.
"There used to be a window there which is the reason I thought we could escape through here but I was wrong"
"You can still escape. Leave me behind. Get yourselves to safety" Anxiety said.
This comment, something both in and out of his character struck a chord in Melissa. She chuckled and wiped away the tear that found its way onto her face. He reminded her of her sister. She got up and went over to the cuffs on his hand. There was a fingerprint scanner on them. She placed her thumb on it and it unlocked. They hadn't changed who could unlock it. She was thankful for that. Any member of her family could unlock it except the person wearing it if they happened to be from her family.
She signalled them to give her some room. She hunched over and began to transform. She attacked the wall chipping away at the stone. Roman told her to hurry along because he heard people running up the stairs. Melissa broke through. Roman grabbed his crush and jumped on Bee Melissa's back. She soars as fast as she could away from the castle and all the way back to Prince's castle.
Melissa planted her feet on the balcony of the prince's old room. The two hopped off her before she changed back to her human form. She clasped to the floor. Being in that form and remain in control was draining. Roman transferred her to the king's sized bed. Anxiety removed the cloak that had been irritating him for ages. He rested it on the side of the bed.
They all knew they weren't going to be left alone for long. Someone will be received to retrieve them. Roman shut the window shutters and pulled shut any of the curtains. Virgil rested beside the bed in a gold and red armchair.
Shuffling could be heard from downstairs. Roman signalled for his counterparts to be quiet. He went to his wardrobe and pulled out a sword. Melissa painfully sat up as is wanting to help her friend. Anxiety placed his hand at stopping her from rising further and tells her to rest. She reluctantly followed the request.
Princey had his sword ready as he snuck around the castle. The sounds got closer. He could see something. He went to swing when his sword made contact with another. Patton was the one holding the other sword. He was protecting Logan who was standing there like Roman didn't almost chop his head off.
The prince lowered his weapon and Patton did the same. He hugged Roman tightly. Logan waited until Patton was done before asking if Anxiety was with Roman. Princey lead the two back to his childhood bedroom. Morality thought the place was enchanting. He had never seen the place before while Logic who was the one who took the prince to the mindscape found the place rather boring compared to the other placed he had been.
Once entering the room, Patton ran past Roman and went to hug Virgil. Anxiety jumped out of his chair and backed away from the man telling him, "Don't you dare." Roman laughed as he watched Virgil get chased by Patton.
Logan noticed the woman in the bed. Melissa was now sitting up. Her back was rested against the headboard. The two made eye contact for a few seconds before Mel winced. Logan's head moved slightly back once eye contact was broken. He fixed his glasses before looking at the others.
Patton and Virgil stopped their chase and everyone was looking towards the bed. Morality wanted to give her his usual bubble greeting but was scared too. The mood in the room shifted dramatically.
"Who's this?" Patton said quietly.
Roman walked over to the bed before introducing his friend. "This is Melissa, one of my childhood friends."
Everyone continued to stare at her. Roman was the only one seeming somewhat normal. Even Virgil was acting bizarre and he had already interacted with the woman. Patton felt bad for the girl who was in visible pain.
They all heard an explosion from outside.
