Chapter 25

(Virgil's POV)

We were prepared for anything. We went to the forest which seems to be the centre of all horrible occurrences in this land. We walked the dark with little light. Patton was clinging onto me. He jumped at every sound. Roman lead the way as he was the most knowledgeable of the land.

We made it to the magic portal in the water. We linked hands as we dove into the water. Roman pulled us all under the water and made sure we all got through. Tired and out of breath, we gathered ourselves before journeying on.

The place was light up which both Princey and I found odd. Thomas spotted someone sitting a little away from us, Melissa. We all charged towards her. I could barely hold in my excitement. She was fine, but then why didn't she come through the door with me? I came to a halt. She wasn't happy to see us.

Everyone's excitement dies down when they noticed that she didn't share the same feelings.

"What happened?" I asked.

She was about to answer when she noticed Thomas. Her eyes widened, she recognized the man instenetally. She approached him and offered out her hand before panicking and removing it.

"It's nice to meet you at at last Thomas. I'm Melissa,"

Thomas still knew very little about the woman. None of us really talked about her unless it came up in conversation. She was more one of us then anyone else. She backed away and looked at everyone individually, shedding a tear that she tried desperately to hide. I asked her my question again. She guestered to a spot off into the distance. Without another word she took as to where she pointed. Halfway there, I heard on of the people in front of me gasp.

"You might not want to look." Mel said.

She was one the floor but also beside us. How does this work?

"Y-your dead?" I asked as if it wasn't already clear.

"Yeah, it's not all bad though" She said.

"But your dead?"

"Not really, I am but my soul lives on. I don't know it's all really stupid." I would have chuckled at her comment if this wasn't all so depressing.

"Are you stuck here?" I asked.

"For now but right now I am not your concern"

"What's more important than you being dead?" Roman asked joining in on the conversation.

"Logan is going to try and kill my mother" That's not good. Is he an idiot? "There'll be to dead people if you don't stop him"

We promised we would be back for here after he stopped him. We got out of the cave the same way we got in and entered the gates of hell. None of us knew what was waiting for us.
