(Roman POV)

I'm trapped in the master's bedroom. The curtains were drawn shut making it near impossible to see inside the room. Somehow the area around me was glowing. My skin was radiating. I should have been more concerned than I was but being trapped in a room with something was higher on my list. The shadows around me moved. I could hear mummers from the corner of the room. Mist covered the floor and the walls of the room. I could see a hint of orange in the corner of the room. One of the shadows resembled a figure about my height. It moved closer to me revealing it faces.

"N-No, okay know you're just messing with me," I stuttered.

"What are you talking about, Roman?"

Roman? She never called me Roman. It was always Princey. She pushed her curly locks behind her ears. Her yellow eyes shine brightly in the dark. I swore I could see freckles on her face. It wasn't really her, she's dead. It's an imperfect copy. The flaws become more evident the longer I stared.

"If you are trying to trick me, do a better job next time," I said.

"I am not trying to trick you, I have no interest in you. I just want to keep you here for a bit"

"Why do you want to do that?"

"I want to prove to you that dreams can be made into a reality"

"What are you talking about I already know-" Then it hit me she didn't mean dreams as in hopes and aspirations but as in actual dreams.

(Patton Pov)

The cry for help came from a boy. He was huddled in the corner. My attempts to help him seem unsinkable. He is unresponsive. Logan leaned against the entry of the doorway.

I am furious with him. He abandoned us. He didn't tell us where he was going. He never does. I am getting very tired of the way he treats us, his family. I ignore some of the stupid things he had done but this was uncalled for. He could have asked for help and now we are stuck here.

"Can you stop leaning there and leaned me a hand?" I asked.

He nodded and approached me. He stopped after only a few steps. The room grew darker and the wood floor felt wet. Water was seeping into the room from somewhere. The source was a mystery. The door creaked as it shut behind Logan.

Logan's eyes glazed over. The boy beside me hunched over and began coughing his lungs out. The boy struggled to get up. The boy's eyes met Logan.

"Stupid Morality, why did he have to spill his drink on my favourite and only tie," Logan said messing with his tie. "No one likes bow ties," he wasn't wearing a bow tie.

I remember the day I spelt Pepsi on his tie but that was over ten years ago. Logan pulled out his index cards.

"Hello my name is Logan but you can call me Logic" he through the first card to the floor.

I remember giving him these cards.

"We have been looking for someone to replace *coughed* to take up a job in the mindscape and we chose you. Say with enthusiasm...I wasn't meant to read that aloud. " He drops another card. I cringed at how stupid be appeared. "Do you accept the offer?" He looked up at me with a blank stare.

"Does it mean I don't die?" The boy asked. Logan nodded. "Sure, sounds good"

"So, what happened to the other person?" I asked. The boy repeated the question.

"He hung himself the day before he was set to work."

"Oh" That was not the answer I was expecting. He never told any of us that. I knew there was an issue but I thought he refused the job last minute and not died. What else was logan hiding?

"The other's don't know that about what happened. All they need to know that you were that guy. " Logan continued to ramble on. "What's your name?"

"Ka-" The boy stopped. What was he going to say?

"While you decide you will be Anxiety," Logan noticed the boy's unease.

"Anxiety" Both the boy and I repeated.

This boy is Virgil? There is more to everyone than I knew. I never realised I knew nothing about my family. No wonder why we can't rely on each other.

The room's door creaked open. Logan's eyes unglazed and he was brought back to reality. He had no recollection of anything that happened. Young Anxiety was still in the room. The boy broke into laughter.

"Anxiety?" Logan asked. "Oh God, what happened?" He noticed the disapproving look on my face. "What did he tell you?"

"What you didn't?" I pushed past the man and exited the room.

My eyes glimpsed over a carving on the door. My name was engraved on it.
