Chapter 16

All but Melissa and Logan ran to a window to see what caused the noise. The explosion came from the castle they escaped from. Melissa slowly shuffled to the window, pushed past Roman and had a look.

"You need to get out of here," Melissa said."Now!"

"Why? What was that?" Roman asked panicking.

"My mother," Mel said staring at the castle. "She knows your gone"

"Why did she want us?"

"I don't know. She is a screwed up woman"

"Clearly"

All but Melissa ran to the door. Anxiety stopped when he noticed Melissa wasn't following. He ran back to her, grabbed her hand and pulled her with him. They made it back to one of the entrances to the mindscape. Patton went first then Roman. Anxiety signalled for Melissa to go next. She shook her head.

(Melissa POV)

I shouldn't go through. My place was here. It was a wrong thing to force my way through the first time. I should have stayed here where I belong. I have unfinished business here. Roman and I were going somewhere before we were taken off course. I need to go back to that river. Something is weird about it.

The two were just standing there. Anxiety looked concerned and Logic was how he was every single day of his life.

"Go ahead, I need a moment," I said to Anxiety.

He, for some reason still holding my hand, let go. He walked through the door and was out of my sight. I sighed. Logan was still there.

"You too," I said.

"You're not going through, aren't you?" He asked.

"I just need a moment" I lowered my head.

"I'm not going through unless you do"

I was shocked. Why did he want he there? I started this whole mess.

"Your one of us...Dreamy"

He used my alias. I am not one of them but I would like to be. Oh, my god, he actually got me to consider going. Wait, how did he know I was Dreamy? Only two people know other than me Roman and Virgil. So how does he know?

"I know everyone who takes residence in the mindscape. You are a special one. I don't know how you got in but I am glad."

He knew what I was thinking. Crap, this man is starting to creep me out. I signalled for him to wait a moment before we went through. I went back to Romans room and grabbed my sisters cloak that Anxiety placed on the bed. I was now ready to join the others.

They were all back safely in the mindscape. All seemed well. Roman's nightmares came less frequent, allowing him to get his beauty sleep though some say he doesn't need it. Anxiety stopped working for days on end. After a while of causal flirting between Vigil and Roman, Roman asked Virgil out. Melissa continued working under the name 'Dreamy'. She is still in charge of making all of Thomas dreams and nightmares. Melissa is rather content with the job. All the traits are happy to see a new face around the mindscape. Nothing changed for Logan or Patton except they had a new friend. Patton was overexcited about that. The four agreed to them agreed to keep the bee thing from Patton in case he had the same reaction he has when he sees a spider.

Everything was right but the story isn't over...yet.

A/N| What a great place to leave it for a while. I am also most caught up on the pre-written chapters. I may spent the next few days writing so I have more to post closer together. Also this was a short chapter but I couldn't add it to the next chapter and I the previous chapter would be too long so you get half a chapter. Tell me what you people think. 

Update: This story will be on hold until I better internet or school. So February. Sorry. I was planning a break but not that long 😭. Oh well, happy holidays and new year. Bye. (27/12/17)
