Old memories..

"Hello mam! Is it alright if we come inside and have a chat?" The police officer asked and I nodded, leading him into the lounge room

"What seems to be the problem sir?" I asked

"I'm sorry to disrupt you at this time but it's an emergency! Your Isabella Evens, sister to Caitlin Evens?" He asked and I nodded

"I'm afraid theirs been an accident" he informed me

"Wha- what happened?" I asked, fighting the tears that wanted to spill

"She was in a car accident in Los Angeles this morning! She had just gotten off her plane and from what we could tell, she was coming to visit you" he explained as a few tears fell

"Did she happen to be in a taxi?" I asked, pounding if it was her accident I seen this morning

"Yes! Do you know anything about the accident?" He asked

"No, I just drove past today and seen the accident" I told him

"I'm so sorry mam but I'm being called into the station! I'll call you within the next few days with all the details! I'm very, very sorry about your loss" he said as we walked to the door

After saying goodbye to the polite police officer, I slowly walked back into the kitchen. After everything that's happened today, I'm finding it really hard to stay strong. I mean, after losing my sister and almost losing my daughter.

"Princess, who was that?" Connor asked

"A police officer. I think it's best if I explain after dinner" I said as we all continued eating

After we finished dinner, we decided on having a movie night in mine and Connors room. Of course, Dani voted that we watch frozen first. Were all sitting on the bed and the movies just finished which means I'm about to explain

"Mum, why was the officer here?" Kayla asked

"Please, don't pity me for this but do you guys remember me talking about my sister, Caitlin?" I asked and they nodded

"This morning, she was coming to visit us! But she sadly didn't make it here because she was in an accident" I explain, Kayla and Connor instantly understanding

"Where she now?" Dani asked

"She's in a better place with all the other angels" Kayla explained to Dani

"So she's happy now?" She asked and I nodded

She's finally happy.

* ONE WEEK LATER *

After having a cup of tea and some toast, I decided I should start getting ready for today. I had already had shower before breakfast so I applied some formal makeup and curled my hair.

"Morning my beautiful mother" Kayla said and gave me a kiss on the cheek

"Morning my beautiful daughter" I replied as I pinned the sides of my hair back

"Have you taken your tablets and eaten today?" I asked Kayla, earning a nod in response

"Good girl and show me your wrists" I asked, hoping she'd be one week clean

Kayla whipped her arms out and revealed no fresh cuts. I instantly gave her a hug and kiss on the cheek, showing her how proud I am.

"Hello my beautiful girls" Connor said as he walked into the bathroom with Dani in his arms

"Hey dad! Hey dani" Kayla said as she gave Connor a hug

"Kay, you gonna tell dad what's happened?" I smiled
