"So, let's get back to work." Lexi commanded in a somewhat forced excited tone.
The girls lounged around the twins' place. They had decided to plan out the spell and gather the ingredients, or at least as much as they could, they could find the rest tomorrow. "I can even bake some cookies so we have something to snack on while we read, wanna help?" Lexi asked, turning to Liz.
"Sure, I could use the distraction." She agreed, turning her whole body around, from her laying down position on the sofa, to face Lexi. She made a weird sound at her wasted breath when she faced her though. The brunette had prob not even heard her reply. Lexi's face had gone blank, and her posture almost rigid, she held onto a table subconsciously as to not to fall. Liz sighed and sat up completely. Turning her gaze over at April she asked, "Where's Lexi's head at?"
"She's probably somewhere she likes, look she's smiling now." Pointed April as she went to help her sister sit down.
"Why does she keep doing that? It's the third time today." Asked Liz raising her voice more than intended. Lexi rarely used her ability, in fact she could count on one hand how many times she had while Liz have been present. Ever since moving to California though, it seemed as though Lexi had lost any grip she could've had on them. It worried her.
"She doesn't exactly practice it, and with no self control... I'm not sure. She has a tricky ability." April explained, huffing at the end.
"Maybe because of everything going on? Has she been sleeping?"
"Beats me. I'll go get her some water." April shrugged. Liz's gaze followed her steps. Lexi stayed the same, with that weird half-smile on her face.
"Seems kind of useless sometimes." Liz complained a few seconds later. She remembered once, back at her old home, a similar situation. A way younger Lexi had been smiling and everything just like how she did now. It had weirded out Liz back then, so she had asked what she had seen. Lexi had blushed with embarrassement and told her she saw into a petshop they had visited earlier in the week and saw that the dog she had been playing with back then, had found a family. Back then Liz didn't think much of it, in fact she probably didn't understand it fully either. Her skill seemed harmless but at the same time, the information it provided wasn't exactly useful.
"The skill?" April smirked as she analyzed Liz's words. "Useless? Maybe, maybe not. My sister? Most definitely. I think that if she practiced, her mind could go to any place or any time. Past, present... maybe even the future. In a time of crisis, it might render itself useful."
"Huh." Liz huffed. "Seems a bit too much. Tad too much power for someone like us."
"Yeah, unfortunately my sister will probably waste it in stupid things like re-living her first kiss." She shook her head, leaving the cup in the coffee table in front of them, and starting to pace around the room. Liz saw her pick at something in her hand. She assumed April was getting anxious. "And to be completely honest, maybe you would do the same if you had the ability." April teased.
Liz gaped at her and made a sound that contradicted her. Why did she have to bring her into the table?
"Oh c'mon." April spun dramatically. "If you had a 'special moment' with Robert, we'd never be able to wake you up from your trance." April smirked.
Liz scoffed and was about to retort but April once again raced in with her words. "Don't try to deny it; it's written all over your face."
"I don't have a crush on Robert, we're here to protect him, that's all." She was telling the truth. Yeah, maybe he was incredibly good looking with his sharp jawline and gladiator like eyes, strong but compassionate. His layered style and cute smile that showed off a cute little dimple- She almost slapped herself. She was here to help him, on her own self made mission.
