That night, Robert couldn't sleep.
Shortly after he had parted ways with Liz, he had gotten a text from his uncle, who had recently moved to an apartment building an hour away. He had asked for a lending hand to help him unpack. And so he'd spent all day working and helping his uncle, Sam, move in. All while trying not to think of Liz. There was still something about her that made Robert's heart flutter. He couldn't help himself.
So as he lay, exhausted, in his bed, he let himself think about her. Eventually his eyes couldn't stay open any longer and he went into a deep sleep...
It was dark, the only visible light radiated flawlessly from the moon. Robert was hiding behind a bush, he didn't remember how he had gotten there, but he paid it no mind. He was watching a girl with familiar blond hair. She seemed to be elevating the things around her. It was beautiful but frightening.
He realized it was Liz. He felt frozen, but hos body moved anyways. He went over with the intention of stopping her, even though he didn't know how, only that he had to. When Robert grabbed Liz's hand, whatever she was doing was stopped and was replaced by a bright, white light. Robert noticed her shocked face and he let himself get scared too.
A sudden loud noise of shattering glass startled them, it was an instant loudness that not even Liz was expecting.
Robert woke up with a start, his heartbead was fast, and he seemed to be panting as though he had just finished a daily jog. Robert sat up, trying to remember the dream he'd just had. But all that he could remember were things elevating, a loud noise, and a figure he couldn't remember the face of. Robert shook his head and got out of bed. Seeing as it was time to wake up anyways, he started to get ready for school. In a few minutes, record time it seemed, Robert started walking down the stairs, still way too early. He suddenly stopped though, as he heard his parents arguing. He quickly crouched down and hid behind the stairwell.
"He is old enough, for Merlin's sake, he's turning sixteen!" Exclaimed his dad, agitated.
"I still think we should wait, just a littke longer. Please." Robert's mom pleaded, grabbing the edges of her yellow shirt in a nervous gesture, "Please..."
"Fine, we'll wait a little longer. But no more than a few weeks." He said in a defeated voice. "We'll talk later, right now let's just keep our voices down."
"Too late." Robert muttered to himself as he continued his way downstairs trying to hide the suspicion in his eyes. He tried making his steps a bit louder now, as to announce his parents that he was coming down. His parents must had heard him coming since they had quickly changed the subject, just as Robert wanted them to.
"Hey honey, did you sleep well?" Asked his mom.
"Yeah, just had a weird dream." Robert answered quickly, but curiosity got the best of him so he blurted out, "Is everything alright? I heard shouts." He decided to take the innocence path, not wanting them to know he had been listening.
The room suddenly went quiet. Robert's parents had a silent argument, based on random stares and shaking of the heads. Then they looked at him, as if they didn't know how to explain.
"Never mind, I was just..." Robert tried.
"Forget it." Claire, his mother, said. "It was just a little disagreement, nothing to be worried about." She went back to do the dishes while trying to not glare at her husband.
"Finish your breakfast quickly or you are going to be late, and you know that's not good fo--"
"Dad, It's still too early, school is not even opened yet." Robert cut in. "And at least I'm wearing pants."
"Son, you just don't understand the little pleasures in life. I like to feel the breeze--"
"I'm leaving." Robert interrupted, grabbed his toasts and hurried out the door while shaking his head.

Robert decided to go look for Alex once he arrived at school. He found him a few minutes later, and he looked distressed.
"Robert, what the hell man, you could've at least texted me. I had to endure your weird father when he answered the door."
"Yeah, sorry about that, I decided to walk to school instead."
Alex hummed but shrugged, feigning disinterest.
"Anyways, what the hell are you wearing?" Robert pointed at Alex's bright yellow shirt.
"A shirt?" Alex retorted.
"I have never seen you wear something that bright."
"What are you implying?" Alex squinted his eyes at him.
"Nothing, it's just... weird. Stop beimg dramatic."
"I like it, okay? If anyone's being dramtic, it's you."
Robert scoffed at that.
"Did you talk to Liz about the party? You know, gave her the details, since it's gonna be at my house." Alex asked, changing the subject. Robert winced, he had totally forgotten, and he had had a chance to do so, many times. "You don't have to answer, your face says it all."
"I so blew it this time", Robert said with a prodding face.
"Robert this is why you need to set up reminders." Alex said extending his hand. "Give me her number."
"What?"
"Her number, I'll text her the details." Alex insisted.
"There's no way--"
Alex just glared at Robert. Robert, reluctantly, gave Liz's phone number to Alex just when they saw the bus pull over almost next to them, startling the boys.
"Rude." Alex murmured as he led Robert inside of the school. After a few seconds the deed was done. All that was left was survive yet another day of school.

"Thanks, hey did you tell Liz to wait for us?"
The answer was given on Alex's face when he gave Robert that innocent smile. Pushing his shoulder, Robert asked, "Dude why did you do that?"
While laughing Alex said, "it wasn't entirely my fault, she volunteered."
With a surprise look, Robert asked, "she actually asked that?" trying not to laugh.
"Yeah."
They both started laughing while getting out of the bus. Without looking Robert bumped into someone, that someone being Liz. Alex bent down to help her with her books.
"Sorry", said Robert as he offered to help her up.
"It's okay", she said not looking at his face but accepting his hand. She was wearing a black shirt with a peace sign and jeans. "Don't worry about the party, Alex already explained everything."
"Yes, you are coming?"
"Yep, I can't wait, don't wanna miss it."
"Really?"
"Yeah, I just know it's going to be great", she said excited. "I can't wait for....never mind", she said dropping her gaze from them.
"Well let's get going, don't want to be late", said Alex giving Liz a look that might have meant, 'stop talking'.
He didn't understood the secrecy, but he decided to ask Alex later. While entering the school, Robert noticed that Alex was looking at one of the new girls, like he know her or something.
Before he could ask, they went to classes and the rest of the day was quite normal. At the end of the day, Robert said goodbye to his friends as he went to his club meeting.
