In drunken movements, Robert made his way to his room. Rubbing his temples, he clossed his eyes, wishing for the heaache to vamish.

- Seventeen years ago -

Leigh was just sitting on a bench, the wind blowing her light brown hair on her face, when she saw him. He was leaning against a tree while reading a book. She was too far to see the title, but she wasn't focused on that, she was observing his lean muscles and dark brown hair. As if sensing her gaze, the boy looked up , surprising Leigh. Instead of going back to his book, the boy slowly got up and made his way over to her, his honey, his honey-brown eyes locked on her icy-blue ones. Leigh should've probably stopped him and told him who she was, but she had a feeling he already knew and didn't care, being the devil's son and all. As daughter of the Angel King, it was her duty to vanquish all evil from earth. Like she had a choice in the matter though.

"Hey, you probably know who I am, but the name's Nicholas Gates. I was wondering what yours might be, can you tell me?" He asked as he sat next to her.

"You probably know who I am", she replied, trying to imitate his voice, unsucessfully, but able to get a laugh out of him. "The name's Leigh Anderson, pleased to meet you Nicholas."

"What are you doing here? Aren't you supposed to be fighting my father's minions or something?"

"You're a demon, remember?"

"Besides me, isn't your dad gonna get pissed?"

"For talking to you? He has no idea... I hope." And to answer his question, she added. "I like it here on Earth."

"Makes you feel normal doesn't it?"

" Yeah, but what's up with all the questions?" She asked, glad that someone finally understood her liking to Earth.

He just shrugged, but said, "listen, can we do this again sometime? You know, hang out and stuff."

"Sure, same place at three tomorrow?"

"Sounds like a plan." He said and left.

Going over the conversation, she decided to go back home with one thought in mind, 'was he flirting?'

Robert woke uo abruntly, and saw the clock blinking the numbers 9:17 am. Cursing under his breath, he changed quickly only to stop before he went downstairs, which saved him from intruding in a conversation accidently. Robert recognized two of the three voices speaking, his parents and a woman were discussing last night's events.

"We have to take him withnus, David it's the only option." said the woman.

Robert decided to peek to see if he could get a glimpse of the woman. She was wearing a marine colored suit and had her blond hair in a ponytail, which gave her blue eyes a fierce look. Robert ran back to his room quietly and called Liz, hopping she would answer.

"Hey, why aren't you in school? Is everything alright?" Liz asked.

"I'm ok, listen I need you to describe your mother."

"Why?" Robert noticed she sounded both worried and curious.

"By any chance did your mother leave in a marine colored suit, and has blond hair in a ponytail that sets of her blue eyes?"

"Yes."

"She's at my house, they're coming for me."

"What?!, we need to get to your house, but first let is find Scott."

"I'm gonna try to leave the house, meet you in front of the school in ten minutes. If I'm not there after fifteen minutes, you, Scott and Alex go hide. Got it?"

"No! We're all in this mess together, it's all my fault... If I hadn't..."

"Stop. I don't ever wanna hear you blame yourself ok? Sooner or later this was bound to happen. I have to go, see you spon." Robert hung up.

Looking around his room, he used everything he could to make a makeshift rope so he could climb out the window. As he was making his way down, he heard someone shout.

"Stop or I'll shoot!"

Robert turned around, raised his left hand and said, "No, don't!"

Out of nowhere, a bright beam shot the man square in the chest. Robert looked at his outstretched hand, which was smoking. Hearing other people getting near, he jumped the rest of the way down, only a few feet away. As the other people neared him, Robert used his convenient new trick to slow them down, as he ran.

~UT~

"I see him! Over here guys!"

'Damn, they're still following me', Robert thought. As he neared the school, e looked for something to distract them. Lucky for him, Mondays are trash day. However for the people following him, not so lucky. (I'll leave the rest to your imagination.)
