Alex, wearing something casual but formal, was getting ready for the party in Robert’s room. It had plain blue walls, but one of them was a wall full of mirrors that you could slide to reveal the closet, which was mess. Robert had a full sized bed, air-conditioning, a desk, and a TV with all his videogames on the bottom, similar to his, Alex thought. He was talking to Robert, who was wearing something similar to Alex, when he noticed that for a while, Robert was ignoring him.
“Are you even listening to me? This is very important stuff you know. Look, I’m trying to help you with Liz.”
“Huh?” Robert looked up blankly at him.
“Dude!” Alex says while throwing a pillow at him.
“Hey! Careful with the hair”, Robert said dodging the pillow. “It took me hours to get it like this.”
“I’m sorry”, Alex mocked, coming behind Robert and ruining his hair. “There, that’s better, girls like it wild.”
“Fine, but you can’t wear my shirt for the party.”
“Robert, this isn’t the only shirt in the world.”
“I know, but you still can’t wear it”, Robert says hugging the brown shirt. “It’s mine now.”
“It was always yours; you know what? I want it now, give it back.” he went to grab the shirt. Robert didn’t let him; he jumped back and ran the other direction, Alex behind him.
Eventually Alex’s athletic skills managed to knock Robert down. They rolled all over the floor until Claire, Robert’s mom, entered the room.
“Hey are you guys read…” She stopped when she saw them on the floor, her son pinned down by his best friend. Claire, wearing something pretty, like for a date, saw the shirt between the boys and confused, she quickly left the room.
They both looked at each and got up so fast they bobbed heads. Alex grabbed the shirt.
“This never happened, got it?” said Alex in a warning tone. “If anyone finds out…”
“Nobody’s going to find out about The Shirt.”
They went downstairs, Alex noticing Claire, who was trying to look busy. Before he could try to explain what she saw, Robert went over to her and started to explain. Curious, he let Robert do the talking, big mistake.
“Look, before you get any ideas mom, we were fighting over a shirt.”
Furious, Alex took Robert aside and asked the obvious, “What was that about? We agreed not tell anyone what happened.”
“We agreed not to tell about The Shirt, not a shirt”, he defended, grinning.
“No we didn’t, just don’t talk about what happened with The Shirt ok?!”
“Ok, ok, you win. “While turning his back, Robert added with a smirk, “for now.”

At the party, Alex was near the food trying not to look suspicious as he searched the room. It wasn’t overly decorated; there was a sign that said HAPPY BDAY ROBERT, some balloons here and there. Of course there was cake, a place for people to put presents if they brought any and a DJ playing the top 40. He decided to hide, so he could continue with his plan. Once out of sight, Alex shape shifted into his friend James, it was easy for him since his special ability was shape shifting. He checked the time on his phone and called James.
“Hey where are you, you’re late”, says Alex.
“Sorry I had a problem with Annie again, she just can’t control her blood thrust.”
“We’ll talk about your sister later, right now I need you here.”
“I’ll be there in ten.”
“I’ll have to improvise for now”, he says and hangs up.
Alex, now James, goes up to see April, when the real James arrives, wearing a purple shirt and jeans, his sandy hair combed backwards so people could see his amber eyes. Turning back into Alex, he walked over to the real James, went over the plan one more time and with everything settled, they put the plan in action. James & Alex went up to the twins, who were wearing similar dresses, Lexi in blue and April in green, introducing James. Leaving him with the girls, Alex made his way towards Liz.
Taking her aside, he says, “I have to tell you something, and you have to do everything I say.”
“Alex, are you drunk?” she asked wearing a black dark blue shirt with a black skirt.
“Am I drunk? Don’t you remember you have something to do… in about 5 minutes?” he asked checking his watch.
“Oh yeah, I forgot.” Taking a slow sip from her cup, she added while walking away,” I’ll start now.”
A lot on his mind, he went back to Lexi.
