Courtney's POV

I wake up opening my eyes trying to adjust to the light in my room coming from my opened curtain.
I turn my body so that I'm on my stomach
My hand moves to the side to feel a body
My eyes jolt open to see Shayne's body next to mine
Holy Shit
What the hell happened?!
I slowly move my arm away so that I don't wake him
He only has his boxers on
He looked cute with his messy hair
I quickly get out of my thoughts and head towards the bathroom
Is this his house?
I couldn't find it only knowing I was headed towards it
I found out it was in his bedroom
But It had looked like his closet
I look at myself to see me in my clothes from yesterday but without my jacket and belt.
I put water on my face trying to remember what happened
All I remember is doing the video and staying there for a bit
Then that's it
I walk out to see Shayne body gone
I look around the room
I hear something come from downstairs
I walk towards the door before somebody wraps their arms around me
I jump in fear
Shayne-Calm down, it's just me
He chuckled
I push him away a bit mad at him
But he did scare the shit out of me.
I asked how I got here and he said that I had fallen asleep at the office. He tried to take me home but no one answered so he took me to his place.
I remembered that I still remember him.
Courtney-Shayne!
He looked startled
Shayne-Yeah?
Courtney-I remember you.
I smiled
His face soon came to a smile and he lifted me and
Shayne-Holy shit!
He set me down and kissed me
I think I'll be remembering for the rest of my life
Shayne-I hate to ruin the moment but we should go see a doctor about this. Just to check why this happened.
I hated the fact that we had to but we did.
Courtney-Fine
Shayne finds something to put on really quick to drive me to my house to get ready
I didn't do much to myself
I put on jeans
Along with a nice hoodie and I fixed my makeup
Which took about 25 minutes
I look around still no site of my family
I mean they do have work
I shrug it off and head outside to Shayne still waiting outside of the car
We get in and drive to the doctor
We waited around 20 minutes before my name was called
Doctor-So what brings you here today?
Courtney-Well I have something near short term memory loss,and all of a sudden I can remember old stuff that I'm not supposed to I guess
He nods
Doctor-When were you diagnosed?
Courtney-3 years ago,when I was 18
He nods
He sits us in our room and leaves
He came back after 15 minutes
Doctor-So how did this thing happen?
Courtney-I was told I was in a car accident,and I had flow out of the car and landed on my head.
He nods
Doctor-I'm sorry to hear that.
I just smile nicely
Doctor-So with everything you just told me it could be the landing triggered the part of your brain that carries your memories.
I nod
Doctor-And we believe that your brain is making a very slow recovery,which took a long time. Some memories may be a bit foggy but you should be able to at least get an idea of the memory.
Courtney-Is that all
Doctor-Yes,and here are some pills for you. Since you will have be slowly recovering memories you'll be a bit delusional,so these pills are to control that.
I nod
Courtney-Thank you so much!
He smiles and nods
He walks us out and we're gone
Shayne-Wow! I guess it could work for us then
I chuckle
Courtney-I guess it could
We were in his car still in the parking lot
I started to cry
Shayne-What's wrong?
I sniffle and wipe my tears
Courtney-I'm going to be able to remember things
He hugs me and kisses my head
He drives me home
I say goodbye for today and enter with my sister wrapping her arms around me
Kari-Oh fuck! Are you okay?!
Courtney-I'm fine
She pulls away still holding my shoulder.
Kari-Seriously?!
Courtney-I'm more than okay! I can remember stuff!
I say yelling in joy
She let's go
Kari-Really?!
I nod and we both hug once more.
We sit down and I tell her about everything.
Kari-Now you can finally go to NYU!
I remember saying to my mom and sister about that
I nod
Not thinking about Shayne
Courtney-But do you think the whole thing still stands
Kari-We get a letter every 3 months about the opportunity still standing since you had one of the top 10 GPA
I squeal from excitement
Kari-So will you take it?
I think about
Courtney-...
