I decide just to take my chances and meet Nash where he wanted me to. If he's even there. I run across the field letting wet, salty tears roll down my face. I'm done trying. I can't hold them back. As I near the gate that leads to the back of the school, I take a moment to suck it up and hide my emotions. If Nash is still waiting, I don't want to start our possibly budding relation ship off with tears. Its too early for that. I proceed making my way to the back of the school; I jump over the gate, run about 25 feet, and turn a corner to see Nash waiting patiently. He did follow through with his plans, I was just late on mine.

Nash looked up to see me which brought a huge smile to his face. seeing him smile makes me want to cry, but I do what any nervous person would do: smile back. I was probably standing too far away from him, because the next thing he said was " C'mon Maddi! I don't bite." I giggled and moved closer. " There we go!! Now I don't feel like a monster! So how wa-" Nash's expression flipped completely around. I panicked as he inched toward to my face, examining it closely. I tried to shift and hide the tears but there was no point - they were on both sides of my face."Hey... Why were you crying?" He asked. "its nothing, really." I lied. " Madison, why were you crying?" he saw the dry tear stains streaked down my cheeks. I'd made an attempt to wipe them away before I arrived behind the school, and I thought I did pretty good... I guess not. " Uh, nothing.. just allergies." I bluntly lied. What the hell am I thinking? Its not even allergy season! "Haha nice try. But, seriously. If we are gonna be together, I mean WAIT no, no if you don't want to I understand...." it was my turn to silence Nash now. " I know, Nash, you want to take this opportunity to be with another Straight person- and yes I am straight- you don't want to lose this opportunity but..." my attempt to scare him seemed to be working with the sad 'but...' thing that I pulled. He looked like he was ready to run off and cry which I don't blame him for... if you get a chance to be with a hetero, or create a hetero couple, you take that chance. You don't let it swing by because I tell you, it'll come and go as fast as a shooting star. " but.... I feel the same way! And I thought you only wanted to be friends! Looks like it works out well for both of us... if you only... asked a question..." I stared down at the ground fiddling with my foot against the bed of grass we stood on, nervously waiting for a response. we literally just met and its weird just to snap into it, but heterosexuals don't have the time that gay couples do. We don't even have time to learn each others favorite color we have to move so fast. But I guess that's the downside of being a hetero, is that the person you find could end up being your murderer instead of your true love and you'd never know it until you're together and there's no turning back.

I'm still looking down at the ground as Nash begins to Answer. " Oh! Right, um.. Maddi, will you go out with me?" Nash asks. It made no sense anyway, because he knew the answer. But hey, you can't date without asking! "Yes! Yes, yes, yes! Of course!" I exclaim. I hug Nash and grab his hand. I pull him to the gate latch that seals the fence and open it, then I run through and let go of his hand. I run too the grassy field and collapse on the ground, laying on my back and waiting for Nash to catch up with me.

After he finally does, I'm staring at the beautiful blue sky, laughing with him on the bed of grass that we lay on. We talk for a little while and I decided not to start our relation ship off with lies like I wanted "look Nash, about the crying situation...." I told Nash about my stupid mom dad plan for house and how I lost my best friends. He hugged me and I buried my head into his chest. " you'll always have me" he whispered "Unless we he caught!" He said after.

"Wow! Well thanks for ruining the moment!" I say/ kinda yell back. He laughs, and I have no other choice but to join him. His laugh just makes me so happy. We also got into a deep conversation about how hetero people aren't respected like everyone else. I was about to get into my personal life but something stopped me. Stopped the both of us, dead.in.our.tracks. The door cracked open, and at first I didn't know why. But then I remembered that the school has these dudes that come out an hour or something after we go inside. Oh god, I forgot... but this time, that's not who it was. You'd never believe who came out from behind the door instead.
