I'm dragged through a set of heavy metal doors."Here she is Doctor. " Says one of the nurses who had dragged me here.
A man turns around. He's dressed in all white from his head to his toe. He's got a blue surgical mask covering his mouth and a pair of dental loupes on his head. He would look like a nice man if it wasn't for his eyes. His eyes are blood red and piercing. They scare me.
"Hello there. I am Doctor Cadence. You must be Yin. Correct?" he asks. His voice is deep and commanding.
"Y-yes, sir."
"I'm gonna give you a quick examination and evaluation and then you'll be outta here, okay?"
"Yes, s-sir. "
"Mary get her undressed for me, would you."
"Yes, doctor." Says the nurse approaching me. She strips me completely. I stand there shivering and afraid. I feel vulnerable and humiliated.
"Climb up on the table dear. "
I do as I'm told. I sit on the table and wait. The nurses help the doctor prep. For what? I don't know. What's going to happen to me? That's a question I've been asking myself a lot lately. Maybe if I had stayed in the orphanage none of this would have happened. I wouldn't be at the scrapyard sitting on this table scared for my life. But on the other hand, I wouldn't have met Spring. The doctor steps in front of me jerking me from my thoughts.
"Lay down." He commands. Once again I do as I'm told. He presses his stethoscope to my chest. Its cold and makes me shudder. I breathe in and out normally. He listens to my heart and lungs. Next, he takes my blood pressure. It's like a normal examination but I still don't trust the doctor. He looks in my ears and mouth.
"Follow the light with your eyes please."
I follow the light back and forth just like he tells me to. He tells me to lay down again and he touches my sides with his fingers.
Suddenly he touches me inappropriately. I gasp and the fear sets in again. Once again I want to scream but I can't. He steps away from me smirking."Get dressed and back to your cell immediately." says the doctor. I throw on my clothes as fast as I can and run out of there. Tears roll down my cheeks blurring my vision. I run into somebody and fall backward.
"Hey! Watch where you're going! Oh! It's you, kid." says a familiar voice. I jump at him and throw my arms around him.
"Hey? What's up?" he asks picking me up bridal style.
"The d-doctor!"
Is all I can manage to stutter. He carries me back to our cell and sets me down on the floor.
"Okay what did the doctor do?" he asks concerned.
"H-he touched me Spring. He groped me."
He hugs me tightly.
"He does that to everybody Yin. He did it to me and to my friends."
He wipes away my tears with his sleeve.
"We call him the devil. Because of his eyes and the stuff he does to us." Spring explains.
"He's a bad man."
"A lot of the people here are bad Yin. This is gonna sound mean Yin but... You're just gonna have to get used to that kind of behavior."
My stomach growls with hunger.
"Here. I snuck you some food from dinner. Thought you'd be hungry." He says taking a small loaf of bread out of his pocket. I take it from him and say
"Thank you."
Before eating it. It's hard as a rock and has no flavor but I still eat it. It doesn't fill me up but its something.
"No problem. Anyway, we should get to bed. It's getting late." Spring says laying down. I snuggle up next to him and he puts an arm around me. I smile. I trust Spring.
