The Warden addresses us outside his office. He holds three wooden clipboards with papers on them in one hand. In the other, he holds three black ballpoint pens.
"I have a very important meeting I need to attend. The three of you will be taking care of some things for me," he states handing each of us a clipboard and a pen.
"I'll need the three of you to do my inspections of our...employees this evening. I've divided each department up evenly for you. These need to be finished and on my desk before the nightly roll call. Understood?"
"Yes, sir," answers Tristan while Marigold and I just nod in response.
"Get to it then!" he demands disappearing into his office. As the other two stroll away from me I take the time to skim over the documents on my board.

The rest of the page is filled with stuff along those lines and it's not worth reading. On the bottom of my clipboard is a bright yellow sticky note with the words:
-Laundry Department
-Mechanics Department
-Medical Pavillion
These must be the different job departments I have to inspect. I smile at the list. I get to see Spring again. I don't get to see him in the mornings anymore because of The Warden. I'll head over to the laundry department first, I really really want to see him. Before I can take one step through the doors of the laundry department a very tall guard appears in front of me.
"State your name and purpose for being here, inmate!" he demands.
"M-My name is Yin Dagenhart and I'm here to do The Warden's inspections."
"Inspections, huh?"
He rips the clipboard from my hands and examines it closely. After a minute he throws it back to me.
"Seems legit. Get the job done and then get the hell out. Understand?"
"Yes, sir," I respond stepping inside and immediately searching for Spring. I spot him almost immediately as he's the tallest person in the room. I quickly make my way over to him.
"Hello Spring!" I say cheerfully.
"Hey, kid! What're you doing here?" he asks smiling.
"I've got inspections to do for The Warden."
I show my clipboard.
"I'll be on my best behavior then. I don't want to get into any trouble." He says continuing to fold laundry.
