We all gasped for air and Ashton's mother started sobbing and clutching onto her husband's arm, as the nurse told us that his heart stopped beating but that the doctors were currently trying their best to make his heart start beating again and that they didn't give up on him yet, they just had to tell his family about his current circumstances.

The nurse said how sorry she was again as she went out of the room to leave us and our terrible thoughts alone.

"He's going to make it" Jaime, who went over to Mrs. and Mr. Irwin said and stroked Mrs. Irwins arm lightly as her husband gave Jaime a small forced smile.

"He's not" Luke whispered angrily and I looked at him shocked.

"The same happened to Josh. They said they'd make his heart beat again, but they couldn't" he whispered, barely loud enough for me to hear.

I leaned my head against his shoulder and brought up his hand to my mouth to give it a little kiss.

"He'll be fine, Luke, I just have this feeling" I said and Luke tried to smile at me but he failed miserably and he knew he did so he just pressed a small kiss to my head and an unbearable silence started.

Suddenly Michael got up and started walking up and down but Larry grabbed his wrist and told him that Michael made him go crazy by doing this, so Michael excused himself and hurried out of the room.

I couldn't take the silence anymore either so I quickly squeezed Luke's hand and ran after Michael.

"How are you holding up?" Michael asked as we went down the corridor side by side.

"Alright, definitely better than Luke I guess. He thinks Ashton is dead already, but I know that he's not."

Michael shook his head:"He'll make it through this, I just know it"

I nodded in agreement and we got some coffee for us, all of our friends and Ashton's parents.

As we approached the waiting room we saw a doctor going in there so we started to run and almost dropped the coffees we were carrying.

As we got to the room, the doctor was currently talking to Ashton's parents, who told him to just say what was happening to their son out loud like before.

"I'm glad to tell you that Ashton's heart is beating again, he lost lots of blood though and he might have bad brain injuries but right now it looks like we're not going to loose him."

I stood the coffees on the small table at the side and ran over to Luke.

"See, he's going to be alive" I smiled as he stood up to hug me and I started to cry into his chest softly.

Jaime, Larry and Calum were crying in relief aswell as I looked up and so were Ashton's parents, who suddenly looked overjoyed.

"If Ashton makes it through the night he'll be through the worst and his chances that he'll make it are really good" the doctor said and smiled at us as Ashton's dad walked up to him and hugged him while he was still crying of happiness.

Luke sat down again and pulled me onto his lap where I immediately burried my head into his chest.

A few hours later the doctor told us that Ashton would be unconscious for a few more hours and that he'd probably wake up the next day or the day after that and only then they could tell if the accident left any brain damages, but he was going to wake up eventually certainly.

After that, the doctor told us that we had to leave because we weren't allowed to stay at the hospital over night but he told us that they'd take good care of Ashton.

As soon as we got out of the hospital, I called my mum, who had tried to call and text me a few times but my phone was on airplane mode all the time.

Mum wanted to know how I was doing because I texted her about the accident as we rushed to the hospital quickly.

I talked to her for a few seconds and she offered to pick me up because she obviously wanted me to sleep at home that day.

I asked Luke if he wanted to come over but he said he wanted to be alone for a while so he just took the subway as he preffered every public transportation to going anywhere by car.

Mum had a long talk with me as we got home and she hugged me long and tight as I started sobbing about everything that happened that day again.

"I'm so worried about Luke though" I said as Mum let go of me.

"Why?" Mum asked concerned and I told her about Luke's brother and she just shook her head sadly.

"Poor boy. Are you sure that he doesn't want to come over?"

I nodded. "Maybe he's with his brother or something now"

It was alreay 3am but I just wasn't able to sleep, pictures of the accident rushed through my head even though I hadn't even been there and I felt like I was having nightmares even though I wasn't even sleeping.

After tossing and turning for a few hours, I decided to go to the beach to distract myself for a while and maybe be able to sleep after that.

I approached the beach to see somebody sitting in the sand and it didn't take me long to figure out who it was.

Luke.

I sat down besides him and he jumped a little in shock but then he quickly pulled me into his chest.

"Can't sleep?" I asked and he shook his head.

"Me neither" I sighed and he said:"This is the worst nightmare ever. I was able to push all those thoughts of the accident with Josh away and not think of it anymore but it's all coming up again and I just see him lying on the ground covered in blood and then I see Ashton in the same position and -"

Luke stopped talking to clear his throat.

"I can't handle this anymore, I've killed my brother and now i've almost killed one of my best friends"

I had no idea what to say since I knew that it was impossible to convince Luke that neither of the accidents where his fault, so I just stroked his hand and watched the ocean as we sat there in silence.

"Do you wanna stay at mine tonight?" I asked Luke and he smiled slightly.

"I actually came here hoping you'd still be up"

A/N: Hahaha I feel so evil now because ya'll thought Ashton was dead when he wasn't really xx

Sorry if this chapter might have been a little boring but the next ones will be more dramatic again ;)
