I follow the carriage until I see a big building rising above the trees. A castle.

My curiosity grows even bigger, as I wonder who that redhead could be. A princess maybe? The carriage arrives in front of the gate. The guards talk a bit before letting them inside. I hesitate before deciding to stop here. The walls are pretty hard to get over and the guards look like people you don't want to mess with. As soon as they see me, they'll tag me as suspicious or just like Alice said 'mysterious'.

I wouldn't blame them, but I can't help but be comfortable in this outfit. The dark green cloak with hood that hides my hair, together with a black shirt and mud-colored pants help me stay hidden. I put some distance between me and the gate and go back to eating my sandwich, my last one sadly. Some time passes before I hear a voice in the distance.

"Are you sure you've seen it here?"

I swallow the last bite and listen carefully.

"Yeah, I've seen a couple of them grow here."

"Let's get it quickly. I'm getting quite tired."

"Want me to make roka tea later?"

As they come closer I note that there are three different voices. One feminine and two masculine. I steady my breathing and shift slowly to a better position to move, if necessary. The steps are getting closer and closer and finally I could see the trio.

A little brown-haired boy, I'm guessing around the age of 12. A taller guy with black hair who looks around the twenties and the red-haired girl I followed earlier. She doesn't have the hood this time, so her red hair was in full view.

As they pass by my tree and head towards some bushes somewhat further away, I notice the air change around the tall guy. He suddenly seems to be more observing and I quickly turn to move opposite their direction. Did he notice me?

I jump about three trees further before jumping down and hiding behind a fallen trunk. I know I'm about to be caught as I hear a shifting noise behind me and before I can move further, a figure jumps over the trunk. It's the tall guy of the trio. His gaze seems locked on something in the distance before snapping to me who is quite close to him. His face shows surprise before his body loses balance. I squint my eyes as he lands on his arm in a quite painful way.

"Damn, I thought you had ran much further." He says as he moves to look at me. He has a playful grin on his face.

"You okay?" I question as I look at his bruised arm.

"Yeah, I'm fine, this is nothing. So tell me-" His eyes and tone of voice suddenly give me a more threatening impression. "Why were you watching us?"

Now that I directly look at his eyes I notice how cat-like they were. What more, that yellow color is just like mine. "Interest." I answer with a shrug. He scans my clothing and face before relaxing a bit, probably concluding I'm not a threat.

"I gotta say, you move very fast, miss." he smirks. 'Miss? Woah, how polite.' I mockingly think.

"Obi!" I recognise the voice as the redhead's and also note the name of the man before me. "Obi, where are you!"

"I'm here, young miss!" Does he call every girl 'miss'?

I hear footsteps before seeing the redhead's  face appear above the trunk. "Obi, what happened? I heard something and-" She stops mid-sentence when she notices me. "Ah- you're the girl who stopped the thief!" Ah that's right she was close when that happened.

I nod as a confirmation. "That was really nice of you." She smiles warmly and I notice how beautiful her green eyes were. I can easily picture her as a princess, dress and all.

She turns to Obi and notices Obi's arm. She immediately frowns at him.

"A-Ah sorry, young miss. I wasn't careful. You don't have to treat this."

"That's out of the question." She answers whilst grabbing a lotion pot out of her bag and rubbing whatever is in there on Obi's arm. Is she a healer or something?

"Shirayuki?" a younger voice, probably from the little boy, questions. Shirayuki, huh? White snow. It seems to be the name of the redhead.

"We're here, Ryuu-bou!" Obi says whilst waving with his free arm. Ah and the young boy's name is Ryuu.

The boy walks up to us and looks at Obi's bruise. "You fell?" He asks.

"Yeah, because of her." Obi jokingly answers while pointing at me.

"Your own fault." I answer softly and look at the petite boy who seems a bit surprised by my presence. He doesn't look like your average 12-year old boy. He seems calm and apathetic and he doesn't have the vibe of a child at all. Though his aqua blue eyes do carry child-like innocence.

Shirayuki starts wrapping a bandage around Obi's arm and I note the slight smile that displays on her lips. Obi seems to notice it too as he smiles with her. "What is it, young miss?"

"Nothing much," she muses " this just really reminds me of how I met Zen."

"Aah I heard of that from Mitsuhide. Zen jumped and fell in front of you, right?"

She laughs. "Yeah, well, it happened because he didn't expect me to be sitting there." That does sound really similar to what just happened.

She finishes wrapping the bandage and looks at Ryuu. "Did you get everything?"

He nods and shows the bottle in his hand. It was filled with leaves of some kind and I realise these guys are probably herbalists since the redhead bought herbs in Wistal and they're collecting them now also.

"Then, time to go back." Shirayuki stands up and pats some dirt of her clothes. She then looks at me. "Don't you have to go home too?"

"The forest is my home." I reply curtly.

"So you're basically homeless." Obi cuts in with a laugh. Shirayuki and I both give him a look.

"But you were in the city earlier," Shirayuki continues.

I know what she wants to ask.

"What are you doing here?"

I remain silent for a bit, wondering if I should tell her the truth or not. I eye all three of them before looking at the redhead again.

Red is the color of fate, someone once told me. Telling them might be a good path to take..

"I apologise," I start, she seems confused at that. "I saw you in the carriage before and followed you to Wistal. I thought it'd be interesting if we met."

I slide down my hood before someone can reply to my confession and watch as their eyes widen at the sight of my blue hair.
