It's been about two weeks since I've started my life in the castle. I've been practising a lot with the sword and I'm now able to duel Kiki to some extent. I'm still doing power training though, but it's nothing special. I have to swing a real sword up and down for a certain amount of time, that way my arm muscles will grow stronger.
Obi has been checking on me during my training. He'd watch when I'd battle some of the soldiers or talk to me when I'm on a break. I find it sweet of him.
I got to know Zen and his aides a bit better too. Like Obi had said, Zen told me to just call them without honorifics and again it surprises me how down to earth that guy is. Zen also said that Obi was the one who called him when he saw Lord Haruka angrily walking my way. Zen then rushed to the pharmacy with the idea to make me knight. I knew Obi was watching me back then, but I had no idea that it was because of his help that I'm still here. He's been looking after me and I can tell I'm growing fond of him.
I've noticed something that has been bothering me though... Obi likes Shirayuki.
It isn't that obvious, but I can sometimes tell from his gazes and behaviour that it's different around Shirayuki. She, of course, has no idea as she likes Zen.
I was still in doubt though, but that one evening completely pushed that away.

I sigh as I look at the ceiling. I'm laying on the bed after a good training session and some bathing, but I don't really feel tired yet. My eyes slide to the window and I feel the urge to go out. I change to dark-colored clothes that are also easy to move in and then go out on the roof through the balcony. I've already done it once before during the night. The stars were very clear that night so I thought it wasn't that bad of an idea.
This time, the sun is kissing the horizon and everything is bathed in warm colors. I walk on the roof a bit before sitting down on the edge. While scanning the castle grounds I suddenly notice a figure sitting on another part of the roof. It takes me a while before I recognise him, it's Obi.
His form is pretty stiff and his eyes seem to be fixated on something in the distance. His expression is one I haven't seen before, serious and pained. I scan his form for a few seconds before following his gaze to a part of the castle ground I hadn't looked at before. I then see two figures sitting in the grass and laughing with each other. It isn't hard to guess who they are, as they aren't many with those hair colors. It was Shirayuki and Zen, them talking and laughing under the orange sky looked really romantic.
Suddenly, my suspicions of Obi's feelings to Shirayuki click prefectly with this situation. And as I look back to Obi something starts to throb within my chest. I don't like seeing him in pain like this and I ponder about approaching, but decide against it as I see Zen and Shirayuki move to say goodbye and go to their rooms.
Obi seems to unfreeze from his stare and moves away on time so they won't see him. I do the same, but I hide mostly for Obi. The whole time he hasn't looked at my direction, so he doesn't know I've seen this.

I've thought about it a lot and not just that, but also about my own feelings. It's true that I've grown fond of him, but it might be something bigger. I get a certain feeling when he's around, it's... a warm fuzzy feeling. I've never felt it before, so I don't really know what to call it.
My head which is preoccupied by my swirling thoughts didn't notice the green-haired man approaching me.
"(Y/N), good morning." He greets me and I jump a bit, before looking at him. He looks surprised at my reaction. "Woah, sorry didn't mean to scare you."
"Good morning, Mitsuhide." I reply dryly as if nothing happened.
"Are you okay? You look a bit troubled."
"I'm fine, don't worry." I shrug, another thing that's been on my mind is my notice of the amount of gestures and expressions. It's been growing steadily and for now I don't think it's a bad thing. I can trust these people.
"I see, well, don't hesitate if you need to talk to us." He says and it reminds me of how supportive all of them have been. "I was heading to Zen's office. Are you coming with?"
I nod and we walk towards Zen's office. Kiki said it'd be good to have a day without training once in a while, this day is one of them. I was taking a stroll around castle's grounds before my mind wandered to all kinds of things.
"How's your training going?"
"Quite well, I've improved a lot."
"It's high time Zen and I come watch again then."
They have seen me dual Obi before, it kind of switched to hand to hand combat midway, but they were really impressed. While walking I notice more guards than usual.
"Did someone important arrive?" I guess and Mitsuhide looks at me confused. I point to some guards. "There are more guards than usual."
His face shows a bit of shock as he seems to realize something.
"Let's make haste." He says and begins to walk quicker. I follow him and soon we enter Zen's office after knocking.
"Zen," Mitsuhide begins immediately. The prince looks up from his desk and Kiki turns to us with some books in her hands. "I think your brother is back."
Wait, wait, what? Brother? ...Ah waait that's right. Zen is the second prince. It makes sense, but I never thought about it... I wonder what he looks like.
"What?"
A figure appears on the balcony behind Zen and knocks on the window. Zen hasn't even answered properly before he turns and opens the windowdoor for Obi, who seems to want to say something.
"Master, the first prince has just arrived." He says quickly, confirming Mitsuhide's suspicions.
"Why does he always come back so unexpectedly." Zen says with a sigh and a somewhat troubled look. "Go tell Shirayuki, I think my brother might want to meet her. Best is, if she knows." Obi nods and jumps off the balcony.
"(Y/N)," he suddenly says after turning to me "are you ready to meet my brother?"
