The sounds of the hooves clattering on the pebble streets quickly change into muffled stamps on the forest's ground. We're moving further from Port Elisa and deeper into the forest.
"We're going back?" Shin questions. I don't answer as I keep my eyes trained on the front. After a while, I see someone flashing between some trees. I move the horse towards that direction.
The figure comes into my view again and as we approach closer, he notices the horses' sounds. He looks at us from over his shoulder and I recognize Obi's face. He should recognize us too, but he continues running. I ride to him and slow down next to him so we're at the same speed.
"What are you doing?" I ask.
"I'm going after Shirayuki." he says coldly.
"And then what? Rushing in like that is not going to help."
He doesn't answer.
"Obi."
No answer.
"Obi!"
He's still silent, so I quicken the horse's pace to get in front him and then cut him off by stopping. He stops running and looks at me while I get off the horseback. His eyes are very cold and it's quite scary. I remember the few times I have seen this gaze when we were training. It was always just a split moment when he's very concentrated on an attack. From those moments I've learned that when his eyes turn cold like this, he is ready to seriously wound someone and it could even be to the point of killing.
The reason for the way he is now, must be his anger.
"Obi, rushing in is not going to work." I repeat.
"So what? I need to do something!"
"No- we need to do something! You promised me! You frickin promised me not to go after them alone!" My voice gets louder as I feel the anger boiling in me.
"I wouldn't have promised you that if I knew she'd be kidnapped!"
"That's why I made you promise it, Obi!" His eyes show surprise and I feel a bit of relief as I feel my words are starting to reach him. "I'll say it again. What happened last time, won't happen again. I am here with you. I can help you. I want to help you, but you're not letting me. Shirayuki is dear to me and I am angry at myself for letting this happen too, but I know I need to think rationally to help her out. You need to understand that too."
I step closer to him and put a hand on his shoulder.
"Let. Me. Help. You." I say with pauses to emphasize my words. I also squeeze his shoulder a bit. His gaze looses its coldness and it slowly turns to a worried one, surprising me.
"..Sorry if I hurt you, I saw the note they left behind and I couldn't stand putting you in danger also."
I pause for a bit. "Hurt, huh?" I chuckle sarcastically, he knew how I would feel. "Yep, I definitely was hurt."
He pulls me into a hug. "I'm sorry, for breaking the promise and not coming to you for help. I'm afraid of you guys getting hurt."
I sigh "..It's okay." I hug him back. "I didn't realize you were trying to look after me." I feel a bit relieved now that I know his going alone was not just a rush of anger, but also a move to keep me out of danger.
"Sooo," Shin says, still on his horse. We break away from the hug to look at him. "what's the plan?" he asks smugly.

"Five guys at the left. Three guys on the right. About ten white tents. The middle one is the biggest and probably is from the leader." I recall from my earlier exploration, while drawing it out on the ground with a stick. "They obviously want me so if it's needed you can use me as bait." I propose as one of the tactics.
"I don't like the sound of that." Obi admits.
"You've trained with me, you know I can get away easily." I shrug and then continue. "The three guys we saw yesterday are among the guards. They seem to be armed with only daggers but we need to be careful in case of people with bows. There is a possibility we might get hit by an arrow while we're running."
"It's strange though." Shin says. "How come I've never heard or seen them before? I often come to this area."
"It's probably also the reason why they're living in tents. They move around a lot, most likely to avoid people." Obi explains.
"Yeah, it's not that weird when you remember that they're wanted for being part of the Sea's Hydra." I say.
"Speaking of, did you recognize their faces." Shin asks.
"No, they must be more of the underlings, otherwise they'd be locked up."
"Underlings, huh? That means they're easy to handle right?"
"Not so much, we might win one-on-one but they'll outnumber us. I already saw eight people outside of the tents, who knows how many people there are inside and we also don't know where Shirayuki is."
"I'm guessing this one." Obi points to one of the middle tents. "There are more people there and it's close to the main tent."
~
Hope your guess is right, Obi. I scan the camp another time. The route I want to take is quite risky, but if I manage to complete it flawlessly, we might not have to fight. Since it's an open field area, running towards the first tent I come across will be the most exposed part.
I sign the agreed signal and a few seconds after, I hear the familiar sound of my ocarina from the other side of the open field. It plays a calm happy tune. I see the guards looking at each other, discussing who should check it out. While they do so I sneak to the closest tent and hide behind it. I peek at the guards and see that two people leave the camp to check out the sound. After they go out of sight, we can hear their yells and the song still continuing. The other guards are alarmed and so three people are send to go check it out.
They are so focused on what they might think of as a threat that they don't notice me reaching the tent I need to be at. I don't move to the entrance of the tent as that will most likely get their attention, but get my knife out to cut open the fabric. I make a small cut to look into the tent and to my relief I see Shirayuki sitting with her back towards me. I make the cut bigger so I can look around the tent more.
"Intruder!" I suddenly hear and then I see the guard in the tent, looking straight at me through the cut fabric. "Intruder! Get him!"
I hear the footsteps from the other guards getting closer, so I put away my knife and grab my sword. I immediately slash the first person that gets into view and the next one that tried to slash me with this sword.
Well plan failed, might as well go all out.
