Hey all. I was going to include this flashback in the 'day out' chapter where Freddie and Monica reminisced about a moment which is coming out next, don't worry. But I found it too long and irrelevant so I chose to save it for this (and of course I made it even more long and irrelevant. My bad!) Just a little more fun before we continue. I apologise once again for planning the structure of chapters body and for letting you all down AGAIN but I hope that this moment makes up. Enjoy ;)Monica finished her lunch in the kitchen on a sunny August early afternoon, waiting for her boyfriend to come back from the dealership with his brand new ride. She knew that Freddie wasn't a car person as much as his bandmates were, Roger especially. It was all down to the fact that he was unable to drive. And she knew him well enough that he'd pick something inconspicuous, impractical or not suited to what he'd want.
That is, if he'd even put any thought into it, as long as he'd arrive in style.
She sipped her tea and giggled, already picturing him at the showroom and telling the dealer, "Show me the most expensive and exquisite one you've got" or "get me something that will make me look like a god so that wherever I go people stop and make way for me".
She snickered as she placed her cutlery into the sink-
"What are you giggling about, babe?" Freddie's voice interrupted.
She gasped and spun around, nearly dropping her bowl.
"Oh! You're back... oh nothing," she blushed, rinsing it under the tap. "How did it go? Come back with anything?"
"Oh yes! I bought a vehicle!" He smiled as he flung a set of keys around his long finger. "Come and look at it outside."
He held out his hand, and Monica smiled and followed him through the hall. She gasped the moment she saw it: a magnificent silver Rolls Royce glistening in the sunlight, parked on the kerb opposite Freddie's front door.
She ran down the pavement to it, "isn't she a beauty..."
"Pity Roger doesn't think so." Freddie rolled his eyes as he rushed down the steps after her.
"Well, I'm not good with cars" she blushed as she walked around to admire it.
"Me neither, I just wanted something grand" He giggled to himself.
She pressed her hands and face to one of the back windows, "it has leather seating and everything..."
"Oh yes, only the best." He smiled, thinking about how childlike and transfixed she was.
"Keep your hands off the window or it'll leave marks." A flat woman's voice interrupted Monica, startling her.
"Oh... y-you're right, Mary" Monica lifted her head and stepped away from the Rolls as the blonde watched critically with notepad and calculator in hand, the suited car dealer standing behind her. Monica didn't even notice them standing at the kerb the moment she stepped out the door, but it made sense seeing that Freddie's ex girlfriend was in control of his income.
"Oh, leave her gawk at it a little more." Freddie slung his arm around Monica as she stared at her feet awkwardly, pink cheeked.
"Yes ma'am, I believe that what the owner says goes as long as the keys are in his hand." The dealer chuckled and held his hand out for Fred to shake. "She's all yours, sir. Yours to gawk at as much as you like" he finished, passing a sly wink and thumbs up over to Monica.
"Oh I saw that cheeky little attempt of flirtation with my girl!" Freddie tutted jokingly as he shook his hand back, Monica smiling to herself bit as Mary stayed silent. "Have you got a way back to your showrooms?"
