~Hereditary by J.I.D~
"Yeah, yeah, want me to tell you the truth?
What you expect me to say?
Cause if we keeping it true
It's probably never gon' change
...
But, I know it's hereditary baby cause your mama was a G
And your daddy wasn't there so you be trying to play with me, yeah
...
We don't speak, we seat, eat food faced down
We don't sleep no more, we need space now"
it don't reallly make sense but kinda goes w it idk lol I just like the song

justin's point of view:

"Justyyyyy," Jazmyn, my little half-sister yelled all the way down the hall.

I smiled, leaning down and holding my arms open for her. "I missed you so much," She whined while I held her in my embrace.

"I missed you too, baby, where's Jax?" I asked, looking down the hallway for another little baby to come running.

"He's with dad, they're over there." I nodded and held her hand, leading her over to where my father was standing.

"Aye, it's the superstar! Welcome home buddy." My dad threw his glass in the air.

"Merry Christmas, how've you guys been?" My hands quickly found their way into my pockets, seeming as I had forgotten the freezing temperatures that accompanied my hometown.

"I uh, I thought you were bringing Selena? She couldn't make it?" I took a deep breath at his curiosity. Not my favorite topic to discuss with the family, particularly.

I sighed, glancing around the room. "Scooter's call. At the moment we're," I raised my fingers in a quotation. "Broken up,". As my hands fell to my side, a little something tugged on my pants.

"Where's Selly?" Jaxon had a little finger hanging out of his mouth in a pout.

I lifted him to my hip. "She's with her family for Christmas this year. But she got you a present, I just put it under the tree right there." Selena had gotten both of them some stuffed animals and she framed the picture of all 4 of us in the park last year.

"I miss her, you said she was coming." He continued to pout.

"I'm sorry, bud. I'll make sure you see her soon, alright?" He nodded, sliding out of my grip and back down to his feet.

Jazmyn pulled me over to the living room when I noticed what show was playing - Wizards of Waverly Place. It was an old re-run from a few years ago and I couldn't help but stare at Selena.

Dividing my attention, Jazmyn threw a stuffed animal at my head. "Hey," I laughed. "The more you throw at me, the more I have to throw back,"

She laughed, running to the tree and pulling the present Selena had gotten her out from under it.

"I saved this one for when Selly got here," She pouted. "Where is she?"

"Uh, she's at home with her family,"

"Oh," She pouted. "Well, do you think she'd mind if I just opened it now?"

A little laugh fell from my lips. "No, I think she'd want you to open it,"

She smiled and began tearing it apart before the head of a build-a-bear was visible.

I knew Jazmyn would love it, solely because Selena had gotten it for her.

I couldn't imagine how I'd ever tell Jaz and Jax that we weren't together anymore and they wouldn't see her again.

When I heard Selena's voice yell my name, I frantically looked around, only to realize it was on the TV.

I'm going crazy.

"Justin look!" Jazmyn yelled, making me turn my head to her.

She threw the bear at me.

"Ohhh," I smirked. "You're gonna get it," I swooped my arms under her legs, throwing her up over my shoulders.

The sound of the front door opening made me flip my head around, but what surprised me more was that it was my mom. I hadn't expected her to show up, especially because my parents purposely do their best to never cross paths, but I guess the rule bends when it comes to me.

"Hey, sorry I'm late, I got here as soon as I wanted to." She smiled as her petite body struggled to close the large door.

"Pattie," My dad nodded.

"Jeremy," She said as she unbundled herself from the stack of scarves that seemed to be suffocating her.

She took a look around, admiring the decorations that I helped my dad put up. "Looks nice."

"Thank you, did that myself," I smiled at my dad's comment, wondering where the rest of the extended family was. They alway come to things like this so they can ask for money.

Finally, we sat down to a nice dinner display after a while of conversing about things no one gives a fuck about. "So, Justin, how's it going?"

"Uh," I spoke while cutting the piece of meat on my plate. "Busy. I've been in the studio a lot, you know just on tour, the normal," I laughed at how not normal my life was.

I used to think the more I had, the happier I would be, but now I'm just constantly paranoid about losing it all.

"And how's Selena doing?" My mom asked.

I exhaled sharply, looking at Jazmyn and Jaxon's faces, quickly getting annoyed at all the comments made about her in just a short amount of time. I didn't want them to ask how the trip went. I didn't want them to ask about us, or her, or our relationship.

I didn't want to lie.

I could've answered truthfully. I could've told my mother that she's just recently been diagnosed with a deadly disease, or that she and her mom aren't talking at the moment because of me. I could've told her that I know it's not going to last much longer, and I could've told her that it's just going to get worse when the tour starts up again.

But instead, I just smiled and said, "We're doing good. We're getting back to the way we things used to be." I didn't know what I meant by that, but it doesn't really matter now does it, because that was just another random lie I had to spew out of my mouth for the sake of other people.

"Oh, well that's good to hear. You know, true love is one of the most beautiful things and I really believe that you two have that. Always makes my heart happy to see you two just doing your own thing." She took a sip of wine. "Don't let her go, that's all I tell you." Never putting her wine glass down, she nonchalantly glared across the table to my father, but he never cared to notice.

I only hope we don't turn into our parents.

selena's point of view:

"Surprise!" My mom smiled largely as Brian, my step dad, rubbed his hand up and down her arm.

I looked at the photo in my hand, finally connecting the dots.

The ultrasound photo was my mom's, and she was pregnant again.
