Arianna's POV:

Since I was already holding Aaron's hand ever since I came, at least I don't have to dance with some guy I don't even wanna dance with. I wasn't surprised that he was the King too, considering he looked smokin hot tonight. Everyone cheered for us as he led me in the middle of the dance floor.

"Ladies and gentlemen, Bridge High's Prom King and Queen!"

I put my arms around Aaron's neck as he put his around my waist. I was tired already, so I put my head on Aaron's chest considering he was taller.

"You tired?" he asked.

"Yup. My feet are killing me." I said, grunting.

"Well, how about after this dance let's escape this and put our feets in a bucket of ice, cus trust me, you're not the only one who's about to get their feet dislocated." he said.

I giggled. "Yeah. I'd like that."

---------------------------------------

After getting stopped for about a thousand times by occasional congratulating and flirting here and there, we finally got outside.

"It's dumb how it never crossed our minds to bring our own car." I said, making Aaron chuckle.

Suddenly, Aaron's face brightened and he turned to look at me. "Hey. I have a great idea of where to go and it's really close."

"Yeah? And that's where?" I asked.

I never got an answer though, cus he took my hand and dragged me across the parking lot and out the street. He stopped right in front of the park that we used to hang out at when we were little kids. He looked at me and nodded. He still hasn't let go of my hand and now that it passed through my mind, I couldn't help but think of how our hands looked like it were meant to be held together. It was like a piece of a puzzle, though it was just a little part of it. I wonder what will make the puzzle complete, I thought.

I realized that we stopped and that Aaron was looking at me like he was thinking the same thing I was.

I looked at the beauty in front of us. It was the little pond where our parents would organize a little picnik for our family and me and Aaron would always swim in it while our parents talked and talked and talked.

"We haven't been here for a while, yet it still hasn't changed hasn't it?" I asked, still awestruck by the pond.

Aaron sat down on the ground and patted the space next to him. "Yup. Still hasn't."

I sat down and we were consumed by silence.

"Has it ever dawned on you that all those cliche movies and books about childhood bestfriends becoming lovers are just like our story? Well, except for the fact that wer're not dating, but yeah." I said.

"Yeah. But I'm thinking of changing that." he said.

I looked at him, surprised of what he just said. As soon as I turned, our nose were touching, lips just a few centimeters apart. My breath hitched as he closed the distance and let our lips meet. Our lips locked and moved in sync with each other. All those books I've read about the fireworks and stuff were apparently true, cus the same thing happened between me and Aaron. How I just realized that I like him was beyond me. After all these years, it never crossed our minds of being together. Or maybe it did, but we were just to blind to see.

He gently pushed me down to the grass, never breaking the kiss. After a few more seconds, we broke the kiss, gasping for breath. Aaron looked at me, as if debating to say something. After a few moments of thinking, I could tell he made up his mind. "Will you be my girlfriend, Arianna?"

I looked at him for a long time before saying, "I'm sorry."
