Chapter 27

Levi's P.O.V.

I woke up to my dad shaking me.
"Time to get up, Lee. We have to go to the hockey game." He told me.
I got up and he left my room. I changed into jogging pants and a Fall Out Boy shirt with a Thrasher hoodie.

I walked downstairs and into the kitchen. Val made waffles and I grabbed two from the plate. I went into the living room and sat down on the couch. I ate my waffles and laid down. After ten minutes, we all filed into Val's minivan and went to the hockey arena.

We got out of the van and went into the hockey arena. The boys went to the dressing room and we went to find a seat. We found a seat at the bottom, behind their bench. After twenty minutes, the game started and Parker was the first to get a goal.

Parker plays Centre, Bradley plays Right Wing, and Rhett plays Left Defence. They changed on the fly after ten minutes and Rhett came off. He saw me and stuck his tongue out at me. I laughed and stuck my tongue out at him. He laughed and turned his attention back to the game.

After the game...

The game ended and the boys' team won 24-20. They lost two games in a row and we're happy they won again since this is their fourth game. They won their first game though.

The first time I've ever really seen Parker and Bradley actually happy and smiling, is when they're playing sports. Like at the football game, I could tell they were very happy and now, they're even happier.

Dad went to go pull the van up so Val and I stood outside the dressing room waiting for the boys.  After ten minutes, they came out and we walked to the front of the arena. They put their bags in the trunk of Val's car and we all got in the van.

"Who is up for doughnuts?" Val asked.
"Me!" We all said.
She laughed and dad drove to Tim Horton's.

Once we got there, we all got out and went inside. I got a Vanilla dip doughnut and so did Rhett. Val got a Strawberry Danish, dad got a powdered donut, Bradley and Parker both got a Honey Cruller. We ate our doughnuts and went home.

Once we got home, I went to the game room and started playing Fortnite.
"Lee, can I use your shower again?" Rhett asked me coming into the room.
"Yeah. You don't have to ask me ya, know? I don't care if you use it or not. Just tell me that you're
using it." I answered.
"Okay. Thanks." He replied leaving.

I played Fortnite for a few hours and stopped to have lunch. I ate my leftovers from Olive Garden and went back upstairs. I was about to continue playing Fortnite when I got a FaceTime from my cousin Damian.

"Hey D, what's up?" I asked.
"Not much. Happy belated birthday, bud." He answered.
"Thanks. So how have you been?" I replied.
"I've been good. I couldn't FaceTime you on Thursday since I had to work." He said.
"That's okay." I replied.
"So how was your birthday? What did you do?" He asked.
"It was good. I went to school and after school I went to Olive Garden fro dinner. I got a few new books and clothes. I also got the Gizmoduck from the Disney Pop! Collection which I've been wanting for a while." I answered.

"Well that's good. Who got you the Gizmoduck?" He asked.
"My stepbrother Parker." I answered.
"Cool. How's the whole living with them going?" He asked.
"Good, I guess. It could be better. I got in a fight with the twins, Bradley and Parker, and I'm ignoring them until they apologize since it's their fault, not mine. I went to their football game yesterday and their hockey game today." I told him.

"Cool. I'm sorry you got in a fight with them. That sucks." He said.
"It's fine." I replied.
"Which one is your favourite?" He asked.
"Probably Rhett. I don't fight with him ever. He's pretty awesome. Parker and Bradley are cool too, but not when they annoy the hell out of me." I answered.
"What about your stepmom?" He asked.
"She's amazing. She yelled at Bradley for being rude and it was pretty funny." I answered.

"So anyway, what's new with you?" I asked.
"Nothing much. Danielle told me to tell you she says happy birthday. She's working right now but she wishes she could FaceTime you. She said she misses you. To be honest, everybody does." He told me.
"I miss you guys too. I wish I could come see you but I can't." I replied.
"How's your dad?" He asked.
"He's doing good. He's happy. I don't see him that much now, though. He goes to work and then comes home at 5 o'clock or sometimes later than that. I'm usually in my room and he's either working in his office, or doing something with Val. He goes to the my stepbrothers' sports games and stuff. He gets along with them which is good." I told him.
"That's good." He replied.

"So how are Grandma and Grandpa and your parents?" I asked.
"They're good. Grandma and Grandpa's 40th anniversary is coming up soon. It's on January 3rd. We're having a surprise party for them. But just my parents, Danielle and I. We don't want to bombard them with people." He said.
"Cool. Tell them I said happy anniversary if I don't talk to you before then." I told him.
"Will do. I'm sorry to cut this short, but I have to go to work. Bye Lee. Love you." He said.
"That's okay. Love you too. Miss you." I replied.
"Miss you too." He said and ended the FaceTime.

I sighed and wiped a few tears from my eyes. I haven't seen them in person since I was ten. I wish I could go there this Christmas but dad obviously won't let us. My dad and I went there Boxing Day when I was nine and ten and we would stay there until January 5th. It was so fun. I wish we could do that again.

Anyway, I continued playing Fortnite and Rhett walked into the room.
"Hey. What's up?" He said.
"Not much. I just talked to my cousin Damian. He's doing good. He just wanted to say happy belated birthday." I answered not looking away from the TV.
"Well that's good. Stupid question, when are you planning on talking to Parker and Bradley again?" He asked.
"When they apologize for being rude to me for no reason. And for almost breaking my arm." I answered.
"Okay. Cool." He said leaving.
I sighed and continued playing Fortnite.
