Levi's P.O.V.
The bell for school to end just rang and I packed up all my stuff. I went to Parker's car and got in. I got a bad grade on my Math test which I'm really upset about.
"Uh-Oh. Somebody's grumpy." Brad said and I glared at him.
"What's the matter?" Parker asked me.
"Nothing." I answered.
"It's clearly something." Rhett replied.
"I got a bad grade on my Math test." I said.
"Oh. Did you fail?" Brad asked.
"No. I passed. I just know I deserve a better grade and I should have done a better job." I answered.
"What'd you get?" Rhett questioned.
"75%." I replied.
"You're seriously upset about that, Lev?" Brad laughed.
"Yeah, B." I said.
"You're such a nerd." He replied.
"That's not the point. So you know when you're playing football and you win, but you know you could have done things better?" I asked.
"Yeah?" He answered.
"Well that's how I feel right now. I know I could have done better." I replied.
"Oh." He said, figuring out what I meant.
We drove home and I unlocked the front door.
"Lee, want to play video games?" Rhett asked.
"No thanks. I'm gonna go look over my test." I answered.
"Lee, it's just one test. Don't worry about it." Brad replied.
"It doesn't matter if it's just one test. I need to figure out what I did wrong." I said.
They sighed and I went to my room.
I looked over my test for a few hours until Val and dad came home with Chinese takeout for dinner. I ate my noddles while everyone talked about their day and other stuff.
"Lee, honey, you don't seem like yourself. Is everything okay?" Val asked.
"Everything's fine." I answered.
"He got a 75% on his Math test and is upset about it." Rhett said for me.
"Oh. Lee that doesn't sound that bad, buddy." Dad told me.
"That's what we told him." Parker replied.
"They're right, Lee. It's not a bad grade." Val said.
"For me it is." I replied.
We continued eating and I put my leftovers in the fridge since I didn't eat much.
I was about to go upstairs when Rhett grabbed my wrist.
I turned to him and said "Let go, Rhett. I have to go study."
"Levi , it's only one test. Stop sulking. You'll have plenty of other tests. Now stop worrying and come watch tv with us." Rhett replied while lifting me up and carrying me to the couch.
He put me down and I tried to get up, but Bradley who was sitting on one side of me, pulled me back down to the couch.
"Stay, dork." He told me.
Parker sat on the other side of him and turned on a random tv show.
I sat there, not enjoying it and mainly thinking about how I could be reviewing the test the whole time.
"Lee, it's just one test. Stop." Bradley said.
I didn't reply and just crossed my arms.
"Ya know, I didn't want to do this, but you forced me." Parker said while getting up and coming over to me.
He lifted me up and spun around a few times, then he body slammed me onto the couch.
He started poking my sides while I tried not to laugh.
He shoved his hand into my armpit causing me to shriek and laugh.
Brad and Rhett decided to join in and they started tickling me too.
"Stop!" I begged.
They ignored my pleads and I suffered for two more minutes.
"Are you gonna be upset about the test still?" Parker questioned as they stopped.
"No." I replied while catching my breath.
Rhett threw me over his shoulder and barely held onto me, so it was like I was gonna fall.
"What is going on in here?" Val laughed as she saw us.
"He's still upset about his test, so we're forcing him to not be." Brad said.
"Put me down!" I exclaimed.
"Boys, leave him alone. Rhett, put him down. How about we all go to the movies?" Val suggested.
"Yeah!" Her kids exclaimed and Rhett let go of me.
Brad caught me before I fell and he put me on the ground.
"We'll decided on a movie on the way there, but everybody go get what you need and get in the car." She told us.
I got my phone from my room and a hoodie, then I went out to the van.
Parker sat in the back with me and Brad sat in the front seat while Rhett sat in the single seat.
"Let's go see the Joker." Brad suggested as Val started driving.
"Sure. Is everybody good with that?" Val asked.
"Yeah." We all answered.
We drove to the movie theatre and when we got inside, Val got us our tickets.
"So you guys can get whatever you want for a movie snack. Here's some money and your tickets. I'm going to go into the theatre and I'll meet you guys in there. I already have a pop in my purse, so all I want is a small bag of popcorn." Val told us while handing each of us ten dollars and our tickets.
I waited in line with Rhett while Parker and Brad went to the pizza part of the concession to get some pizza.
I got a bag of popcorn for Val, one bag for me and a slushie.
I waited with Rhett until he gotta is order and we went into the theatre.
I gave Val her bag of popcorn and then sat down.
While we waited for the movie to start, Val and Rhett went on their phones but I kept thinking about my test.
"Lee." Somebody said.
I looked up and Parker was standing there with a plush R2-D2.
I smiled and took it.
"Where'd you get it?" I asked.
"The arcade had a claw machine." He answered.
"It's cool. Thanks, Park." I replied.
"Your welcome, Lee." He said and sat down.
Brad sat down too and the movie started playing.
After the movie...
The movie was really good and it honestly made me forget about my test completely.
We left the movie theatre and got into Val's van.
We drove home and when we went inside, I went to the kitchen and got myself a water bottle from the fridge.
"So Lee, I need to talk to you." Dad said as he came into the kitchen.
I sat down at the table and so did he.
"I got a call from your teacher. She said that although you passed the test, it wasn't your best and she knows you can do better. Your one of the top students in her class still so she's offering you a chance to retake the test." Dad told me.
"Really?" I smiled.
"Yes, really. Next Friday she will have the guidance counsellor pull you out of her class and you will do the test in the guidance office." Dad replied.
"That's great!" I exclaimed.
"I know it is. She also said that there are worksheets online to help you study, so I want you to study everyday so you can gain a better understanding of the material." Dad told me.
"Okay. I'll go study right now." I said.
Dad nodded and I went up to my room.
I changed into my pyjamas and then reviewed the text book along with the test. I was reading through the textbook while laying on my bed and I fell asleep.
