"It was perfect. We went to this great restaurant and we just talked. It seems so simple, but it was just so comforting," she smiled at me as we were sitting on the couch watching an old school Barbie movie.

"Wow, that sounds so-"

"Perfect? It was," she smiled again interrupting me.

I tried to give a supportive smile, but caught myself rolling my eyes at how annoying this situation was. I'm glad she was happy, but she knew that I have feelings for Daniel and she still is talking about her perfect date.

Kendra went on and on about all the new things she learned about him and how different he was from other guys as I nodded trying not to seem sarcastic. My replies were a repetitive "yeah that sounds fun" or "that's sweet" as I kept watching Barbie Princess Charm School.

The movie was way more interesting than this conversation.

"Allison is coming in today," I say interrupting her ongoing story.

"Really? Is she staying here?" She asked delighted.

"Yeah. Aren't you going to Florida soon? I mean, you go every year," I reminded her.

"Oh, I have news," she smiled excitedly as I looked at her.

"So, none of my family really wants to go to Florida again, so my grandparents are coming to Newport! This means we could stay in this townhouse for the entire break!" she clapped happily.

"Aren't you going to visit them in Newport?" I asked unamused.

"Yeah, of course; probably Christmas day. That reminds me I need to go Christmas shopping!" she giggled heading upstairs as I proceed to watching the movie.

Two hours pass by as I see that Allison isn't coming in until later today, so I order pizza. I sigh still watching another Barbie movie as the doorbell rings. I smiled racing towards the door with a twenty dollar bill in my hands ready to eat, but to my surprise it was someone else.

"Hey," Daniel scratched the back of his neck.

"What are you doing here?" I said awkwardly.

"I'm going out with Kendra," he said trying to find an expression on my face.

"Oh," I said blankly.

I called out Kendra's name from downstairs as she told us to give her two minutes. It was silent between us. The only noise we heard were from Barbie singing in the background.

"What are you guys going to do?" I asked trying to break the silence.

"Christmas shopping," I said pulling out his phone to end the conversation.

"Why are you ignoring me?" I ask bluntly as he quickly looks up into my eyes.

"I'm not," he lied.

"Okay, fine. Daniel if you don't want to talk this out or at least be friends then go ahead," I rolled my eyes as I walked back into the living room.

My rage and annoyance were to the roof with this boy.

"Sien-"

"Hey, let's go?" Kendra appeared smiling as I look back at him.

"Yeah, sure." he said grabbing her hand closing the door behind them.

----

My eyes soon open from my slumber as I hear pounding on the door with harsh beats of the doorbell. I mumble something under my breathe as I get up rubbing my eyes. It was now around 5 PM when I opened the door. Excitement ran through my body as I hugged her in my arms.
