4 months later

"You're so overworked! Come on — stop being Trista's maid for one weekend and come back to LA!" her melodious voice rang through the phone.

"Yeah, yeah. I've heard you say that eight times this week! The wedding is in two months — and being her maid of honor — I have to prepare," I told my dimwitted friend.

"One weekend! Come on!" Ali insisted.

"I think you're forgetting that I'm not an uprising singer — unlike yourself. Flying across the country wouldn't help the bills," I giggled grabbing my purse heading out the familiar apartment.

"Said the girl who's writing a book for a new publishing brand!" she joked on the other side of the line causing me to roll my eyes smiling.

"It's a maybe for publishing. They just liked my idea — that's all," I insisted creeping my way down the stairs towards the subway.

"Maybe my as—" it interrupted by voices in the background.

"Ali?"

"Sorry, Zach came over to rehearse some duets. I'll call you later?" she asked giggly.

"Yeah — talk to you soon," I smiled before hanging up.

My headphones clutched my skin as I strolled down the stairs of the apartment complex making my way towards the subway. Scanning my card, I walk past the gates waiting for the train to stop, so I could board. My feet tap at the beat of my music as I hop onto the familiar train leading me to the school grounds.

My new life in New York was harder to balance from my past one — being it was more hectic. From schooling, wedding preparation, and a manageable relationship with my boyfriend, it seemed like a lot to tackle at once. My life wasn't the same as I left it in that airport four months ago — but that's the complications of reality.

Kendra decided to take some time off school and head to Europe as an exchange student. We would call, but I haven't seen her since the airport. Luckily, she promised to attend Trista's wedding coming up very soon.

On the other hand, Ali is the top new singer in my parent's company. With her hectic schedule, it's hard to keep track of her while she's always in the studio or with Zach rehearsing some songs. While Zach is still finishing up high school, Ali finished since she skipped a grade. It's planned that she would release an album just later this year.

I was the only one that actually furthered my education among the trio in physical schooling. In my first week, Mrs. Ren offered me a chance to submit my writings to a new publishing company — which loved my work. Surprise and adrenaline rushes my body that day as I shared more ideas to them. They are consistent with wanting new content as I'm trying my best to write more.

It hasn't been the same for my writing since I've arrived at New York — and I wasn't sure why. It was ironic how this city is known for dreams to come true when I could barely scratch a sentence onto paper. Lately, writing has seemed more difficult and harder to place in words. After leaving sunny California, I didn't just leave my feelings for the certain baby blues.

I left my inspiration.

Daniel and I haven't talked since that day — it's been smooth waters since I've left. I don't blame us — our relationship burnt out like a flame. Even though the connection is lost, it doesn't mean I don't talk to the other boys. With Zach constantly by Ali's side now, I get frequent calls from all of them.

We've finally unblocked each other from all medias, but the fans were still confused on what happened between us. Articles and articles online surfaced with my name, but I'd never read them.
