🔸Shot 31 ~ Don't Cry, Eds🔸

So I came up with this AU where Richie and Eddie watch a movie together every other night or Every Friday and Saturday night or whatever

And sometimes the movie they watch is sad

Not that Eddie is a crybaby, not at all, but he's really sympathetic and empathetic so he always cries at the sad parts

It hurts Richie to see him cry, so he tries to lighten the mood the only way he knows how: cracking jokes. Sometimes inappropriate, sometimes not necessarily but his jokes definitely throw off the melancholy tone

At first, Eddie brushes it off as Richie being Richie. But one night when they watch The Best of Me, Richie cracks a joke at the worst time and Eddie snaps

Eddie scolds him, with tears still streaming down his face, and Richie's excuse is that he was just trying to lighten the mood, but Eddie is serious and wishes Richie could be serious for one minute

Eddie realizes what he says and remembers why Richie is the way he is, and realizes that he knows Richie tries and is actually very kind and caring and loves him

But Richie just sighs and explains that he just can't stand it when Eddie cries, no matter what he's crying over. It hurts Richie to see one of the only things he cares about, and adores and loves so much, in pain
