You and the other losers made it to the Derry Summer Fair. Richie grabbed one of the marcher's trombone and started trying to play it, but failed. The marcher ripped the instrument out of Richie's hand. "What the fuck, dude?" Richie said out loud. You, Bill, Ben, Beverly, Stan, and Mike were in a group together looking at the new missing kid poster, plastered on top of Betty Ripsom's. The new missing kid's name was Edward Corcran.
"They say they found a part of his arm all chewed up near the standpipe," Stan said, looking at the poster. "He asked to borrow a pencil once," Ben said. Bill pulled up Edward's paper, revealing Betty's.
"It's like she's been f-f-forgotten because Corcran's missing," Bill said, pulling the paper back down. "Is it ever gonna end?" Stan asked. Eddie walked up behind the group with two ice cream cones, eating off of one and handing Richie the other. "What are you guys talking about?"
"What they always talk about," Richie answered while taking the ice cream cone. "I actually think it will end, for a little while at least," Ben said. "What do you mean?" Beverly asked. "So I was going over all my Derry research and I charted out all the big events like the Ironworks explosion in 1908, the Bradley Gang in '35, and the Blackspot in '62, and now kids being...I realized this stuff happens every--"
"27 years." Bill and Ben both said in unison.
Beverly, Stan, Mike, and Ben sat down on a bench while you, Richie, Eddie, and Bill sat on the seat of your bikes. You all were talking to each other. "So let me get this straight, it comes out to eat kids for like a year and then what? It just goes into hibernation?" Eddie asked.
"Maybe its like, what do you call it, cicadas. You know, the bugs that come out once and every 17 years." Stan said. "My grandfather thinks this town is cursed." Mike started. "He says that all the bad things that happen in this town are because of one thing..an evil thing that feeds off the people of Derry."
"But it can't be one thing, all of us saw something different." You said. "Maybe it knows what scares us most and that's what we see," Mike said. "I saw a leper. He was like a walking infection." Eddie said while looking around. "But you didn't, because it isn't real. None of this is. Not Eddie's leper, or Bill seeing Georgie, o-or the woman I keep seeing.." Stan looked at everyone. "Is she hot?" Richie asked. "No, Richie. She's not hot! Her face is all messed up. None of this makes any sense!" Stan yelled loud enough for just the losers to hear. "They're all like bad dreams."
"I don't think so, I know the difference between a bad dream and real life, okay?" Mike said trailing off. "What'd you see? You saw something too?" Eddie asked. "Yes. You guys know that burnt down house on Harris Avenue? I was inside when it burnt down. Before I was rescued my mom and dad were trapped in the next room over from me. They were pushing and shoving, pounding on the door trying to get to me...but it was too hot. When the fireman finally found them the skin on their hands had melted down to the bone. We're all afraid of something.." Mike said.
"You got that right," Richie said. "Why, Rich? What are you afraid of?" Eddie asked.
Richie looked over his shoulder at the clown performing and making animals out of balloons. "Clowns."

The losers all gathered in Bill's garage. Bill turned on the projector and lined it up with the map. The map was the Derry Sewer System. Bill placed a card into the slot of the projector labeled "Old Derry." The card was a map of the City of Derry.
Everyone except you and Bill sat down on a crate and looked at the map. "Look, that's where G-G-Georgie disappeared." Bill pointed to the storm drain marked on the map. "There's the Ironworks and the Blackspot. Everywhere it happens, it's all connected by the sewers. They all meet up at the--"
"Well house." Bill and Ben said in unison. "That's in the house on Neibolt street," Stan said. "You mean that creepy ass house where all the junkies and hobos like to sleep?" You asked. Eddie took a puff of his inhaler while breathing heavily. "I hate that place. I always feel like it's watching me." Beverly said. "That's where I saw it..that's where I saw the clown.." Eddie said in a shaky voice. "Th-Tha-That's where IT lives.." Bill said. You scooted closer to Bill. Eddie took another large puff of his inhaler. "I can't imagine anything ever wanting to live there," Stan said.
Eddie got up and turned to everyone. "Can we stop talking about this? I-I-I can barely breathe, this is summer, we're kids, I can't even breathe, I'm having a have a fucking asthma attack! I'm not doing this!" Eddie yelled while ripping the map off the wall. "What the hell?! Put the map back!" Bill scolded. Eddie shook his head no. The projector started flipping slots on its own. "What's going on?" You asked. The card of Old Derry started turning into pictures of Georgie with his family. "What happened?" Bill asked. It started going faster. It left on a picture of Bill, Georgie, Bill's dad, and Bill's mom, but his mom wasn't ready for the picture. Her hair was being pushed over to one side by the wind and her mouth was open. Her face was zoomed in on. "Bill?" Stan asked. Her face slowly started morphing into Pennywise. "What the fuck is that?! What is that?!" Richie yelled gripping onto Eddie. "I don't fucking know!" Eddie yelled back. You held onto Bill. "Turn it off. Turn it off!" Beverly yelled. "Turn the fucking thing off!" You yelled in tears. Mike kicked the projector and the wall showed a blurry vision of the clown. Everyone was breathing heavily. The clown popped out of the projector and hurried towards you.
You shielded yourself with your arms. The clown reached out towards you. Ben opened up the garage door and you saw a strobe of light hit you. You uncovered yourself and ran to Bill. You were in tears. You were absolutely frightened. He grabbed you and pulled you close to himself. "It's alright, don't worry. It's over." He whispered. You cried into his shoulder.
"It saw us...it saw us and it knows where we are!" Eddie yelled. "It always has," Bill said while wiping your tears. Bill walked away from you. "S-Suh-So lets go," Bill said while walking towards his bike. "Go? Go where?" Ben asked. "Neibolt. That's where G-Geor-Georgie is."
"After that?" Stan asked. "Yeah, it's summer. We should be having--" Richie started. "If you say it's summer one more f-fu-fucking time.." Bill said. He grabbed his bike and hopped on it. He started pedaling away and going towards Neibolt. "Bill, wait!" You yelled.
__________
Bill made his way to the house on Neibolt street. He set his bike down and began to walk up to the house.
"He thrusts his fi-fists against the p-po-posts, he still insists he sees the g-gh-ghosts."
He walked up the rickety steps. You and the others came and slammed your bikes down. "Bill, you can't go in there. This is crazy." Beverly said.
"Look you don't have to come in with me. But what happens when another Georgie goes missing? Or another Betty, or another Ed Corcran, or--even one of us!? Are you just going to pretend it isn't happening like everyone else in this town? Because..I can't. I go home and all I see is that Georgie isn't there..his clothes, his toys, his stupid stuffed animals, but he isn't. So walking into this house for me, is easier than walking into my own." Bill said almost in tears. He was getting choked on his words.
"Wow.." Richie said. "What?" You asked.
"He didn't stutter once."
