"Ahahaha, yeah... I do."

Alex gently smiled and stared at her hands. She then placed them on her cheeks and closed her eyes. She could still feel the warmth of his large hands, it was soothing. She didn't want it to end. Crissy realized that Alex was spacing out again and spoke to her which made Alex jump a little.

"You know, Ally..."

"Hmm?"

"I think you deserve a chance with that guy. Take him shopping tomorrow, get to know him a little. I'm changing our double-date to Saturday, is that okay with you? He really needs some extra clothes, haha."

Alex stared at Crissy with a curious expression and didn't say a word. She had never seen Crissy smile so softly like that, she was always so loud and had wide smiles and grins that made her look like a psycho, but now...

"Who are you and what have you done with Crissy?"

"Wha-? Pff.. Ahahahahaha, I'm sorry. It's just that I have a good feeling about this guy. There's something about him that separates him from all those fuckboys and jerks around the world you know?"

"Tell me about it."

"An angel specially made for you, shortcake."

"Shut it, Cris."

They glared at each other for a while, but laughed right after. Alex considered herself lucky to have a friend like Crissy. Of course she could be a pain in the ass every now and then but... That's what friends are for sometimes. There's no telling where Alex would be right now if she had never met her.

"I'm gonna sign your official release and then you're free to go, little lady."

"Where am I Crissy? In prison? Haha"

"Just lightening up the mood, silly. Also, I'm sending a fax to your company for a 2 week sick-leave."

"Wait.. WHAT!? Have you lost your mind?"

"Huh? What are you talking about? You need a full week's rest, and another week to spend with your loverboy. Haha"

"What? I uh... *sigh* Nevermind."

"That's what I thought, haha."

After Alex got changed, she gave Crissy a big hug before leaving the place which got Crissy to walk her to the door.

"You ain't leaving this place on your own haha."

"Aww, thank you for escorting me, my loyal servant. *chuckle*."

Crissy slapped Alex's butt before letting her go outside, forcing Alex to laugh this time instead of glare at her like she always did. When she looked up front, Dominic was there, waiting for her.

"How did- Where did he..? *Turns to Crissy*"

Crissy winked at her when she looked back for an answer.

"Oooh! Ok."

"Catch you later, shortcake."

Alex walked up to Dominic and put out his cigar, which made him chuckle a little and look at her.

"Haha oi! That was expensive."

"Maybe you should think twice about buying something expensive that'll kill you, you're literally paying to be killed haha."

"That's funny, didn't take you fer a joker."

"What can I say? *Squints at Dominic* I'm full of surprises."

"Hahahaha! Aye, that you are, lass. You're probably the first girl to get this much of Jim's attention."

"Pff, nah. You're joking."

"Maybe, maybe not haha."

She looked at him with eyes wide open. Did she hear that right? She did, didn't she? Her heart started beating really fast as her cheeks turned red. Alex could hear Dominic laughing as he climbed into his cab.

"Heading home?"

"Yep, thanks Dom."

"Don't mention it, kid."

Alex was anxious the whole ride home, she couldn't figure out what she should wear the next day. She wanted to wear something to make sure his eyes stayed on her and only her, but she didn't wanna look desperate either.

"You look pretty serious Al, you ok?"

"Ahh! Wha-what?"

"I said you looked serio-"

"Ah! No, no, no, no, I was just thinking about what to wear tomorrow..."

"What? Seriously? I don't know what the hell goes on in a woman's mind but whew, glad I was born with a dick, must be tough to be a lady."

They both laughed as Dominic drove her home. Ten minutes later and almost as if they hadn't moved at all, they were at her doorstep. However, Alex hesitated to open the cab door, lost in her thoughts and fears. Dominic offered to accompany her up to her apartment but she kindly refused, she was nervous and needed to fight those fears on her own.

"You sure you gonna be alright?"

"Yeah, thanks, Dom. Here's the money."

"Take care of yourself yeah?"

Alex simply nodded, ending the the exchange of words with Dominic as he drove away. She got up to her apartment door and took a deep breath before turning the key to where it all happened. Alex walked in and was amazed that the place was spotless! There was a note on the table saying

"Get well soon Ms. Torres, I made sure to clean everything up for you before you got home. Take care of yourself, young lady.
-Beth"

"Beth? Oh! The building's janitor... I have to thank her later..."

Suddenly, from the back of her head, there was a noise... Not so much as a noise but a voice! Chills ran down her spine. She was panicking again, her whole body was shaking and she couldn't stop it. Alex wrapped herself in her own arms, hoping for the shaking to stop but had no such luck.

"Aaaaaaaa...... lllllyyy..."

Alex looked back but no one was there... Was she going crazy? It felt like there was a shadow following her around from behind, but she stayed strong. Alex took a deep breath and slapped herself lightly to place her attention elsewhere.

"Focus Al, you have a date tomorrow and you need to find something to wea-"

"LEX!"

Alex cried out, fell to the floor and immediately crawled to a corner of her apartment. Alex was breathing heavily..

"Am I going crazy?!"

She curled into a ball and stayed in her corner, she didn't know what to do but stay there... Before she knew it, morning was pushing away the dark of night as she laid there crying and covering her ears. This gave way to a new realization, Alex was slowly breaking.
