After getting out of the building, Alex got an unexpected call from Crissy, which was pretty normal, knowing her.

"Cris? Hey! How're you doing? Do you need anything?"

"Do you mind... Dropping by my apartment?"

"But I have to get to work and... Don't you have to go to work too? Dom needs you by his side doesn't he? Is it important?"

"I filed for a two-day leave. And... yes, it's important..."

"I'll be right there then."

"Thanks, shortcake..."

Alex texted James after the call, letting him know about the change in plans. Alex took the bus to Crissy's place, she was quite concerned about how serious Crissy sounded.

Alex didn't really want any drama after everything that had happened. The attacks, the assassination attempts, Tyler... But Crissy was her friend. She had to return the favor and listen to whatever she had to say. Crissy always listened to Alex's rants, it was the least she could do.

Alex arrived at Crissy's doorstep, but hesitated to knock on the door. She always had hunches about bad things, and they were mostly right. However, she erased the thought from her mind and knocked on the door. Not a second later the door opened.

"Cri-!!"

She hugged Alex like there was no tomorrow! It was the tightest she'd ever given. Like a beast with the intent to pop someone's head off.

"C-Crissy? What's going on?"

"Just shut up and listen! *sniff*"

She pulled Alex into the apartment, closed the door, fell on the couch and continued crying.

"Crissy, I don't understand. What on earth's going on-"

"Promise me..."

"What? Promise you what? Cris, why are you cry- Wha... What the hell is going on? You're kinda freaking me out..."

"Just promise me please!! Promise me you won't hate me..."

"Cris... What did you do?"

Alex stood there in front of Crissy, who was desperately trying to get a promise out of her best friend. Alex couldn't promise anything, she was too scared to promise, so she waited. Crissy waited for a whole minute before giving up.

"Haha... Guess I can't get you to promise..."

Alex knelt in front of Crissy, placed her hands on her shoulder to try and calm her.

"Cris... Please tell me what's going on."

"You're going to hate me..."

"Cris-"

"You'll never forgive me..."

"Crissy Macer, tell me what the hell is going on right now!!"

"Lex..."

"Please Crissy, you called me all the way here... You know I'm not gonna let this go."

Crissy went silent for a moment, but she stood up and slowly walked to the window to look outside. Before she talked, she turned around and gave Alex a blank expression while tears rolled down her face.

"Lex, what I'm about to tell you is unforgivable... Don't walk out on me until I finish. Please..."

Crissy's guest was getting impatient, anger started flowing through Alex but the fear was stronger.

"Can you just stop beating around the bush and tell me?"

"Alright..."

Crissy could tell that Alex was tense, she was angry. She wasted no more time and told Alex everything. As expected, Alex was shocked, devastated, left feeling betrayed.

"You... What?"

"Lex, I'm sorry... I know you'll never forgive me-"

"You... Hired someone to kill... James?"

"I'm sorry... Please-"

"I love him, Cris! How could you!? How the fuck could you do this to me!? To him!?"

"Please calm down-"

"Calm down?? *Tears starts to fall* Cris, you're my Best! Friend! H-How... why??"

"I was desperate ok??! There's no such thing as a cure cancer!! I needed to see it for myself! I just wanted blood! I didn't think he'd willingly give any, thinking that his story was bull!"

"This person you contracted is dead, Crissy! Dead!! James killed her to protect ME! Do you have any idea what you've done!? Not a day has passed that James isn't uneasy anymore, do you understand that!?"

"Wait... Dom..."

"You're thinking about Dom right now? Are you sick in the hea-"

"Just shut up for one second!"

"What?"

Alex was speechless when she saw the fear in Cris's eyes, it was the most scared she'd ever been.

"No... Oh no... Oh, no, no, NO!!"

"What the hell's going on Cris..?"

"The prick who shot Dom..."

"What about him?"

"Dominic said he was complaining... Something about his sister. What if... He's talking abou-"

"The assassin you sent that night..."

"Lex, I'm sorry... I'm sorry I'm sorry... I'm so, so sorry. Please!! Y-You gotta hurry! You have to help me, please!!"

What tear droplets Alex had turned to a stream. The pain, and betrayal she was feeling was too much. Alex did not control herself and abandoned her friend.

"Do you have any idea... What danger you got me into? What you got all of us into?!"

"Alex, please!!"

"*Shakes head* No... I'm done... Crissy, *sniff* I'm done helping you!"

"Alex, wait please!! You don't understand!!!"

She ran out the door as fast as she could, Alex got lucky that the elevator was already there and that it was empty. She let it all out on the way down, she did not care about the people who saw her on the bus. When Alex got home, she felt worse when James and Eva's laughter disappeared. Eva ran up to Alex and hugged her. She was still cheerful and told Alex to stop crying. James gave her a hug as well.

"James... *cries* I don't... I-I don't know... What to do... *sniff*"

When she explained everything, Eva didn't know what Alex was talking about, she didn't understand most of it either. But when she saw James's face, chills down her spine, she was shaking with fear. It was the face of a cold blooded killer.
