___________________________________Alex gently placed her ear to the door after closing it behind her. She didn't care about work. James was the only thing that was on her mind at that moment, and she didn't know why. After hearing him sip the coffee, Alex quietly ran to the elevator, and waited. It felt like an eternity went by until the elevator opened its door to her on the 23rd floor. While other people got on the elevator along the way down, Alex used that time to think to herself. Upon getting off the elevator, she checked her phone for the time.
"*Sigh* 9:23, I'm soooo late... Who knows what's gonna happen? My boss could throw a fit. Ah! Since I'm not in the mood to go to work, I really am not. After the shit that happened yestersay? I'm just gonna get a sick-leave from my favorite doctor, Crissy. Aaaaaaand, I'm thinking out loud again."
Instead of taking the bus to her office, Alex took one to the "Royal London Hospital." The scene from the previous night kept playing in Alex's head over, and over again. James's lips felt really soft. It was like they were now imprinted on her own lips permanently. Subconsciously, Alex bit her lips, which was when she realized she had missed her stop.
"Oh nononono, no!! *tisk* Damn it..."
Alex was two stops past from her destination, which led her to get off the bus, and take another bus across the street.
She really did try hard to focus the second time around, constantly looking out the window to see if she hadn't missed her stop again.
But without fail, her mind would wander back to James's lips, and how soft they were. So much so that Alex jumped every time the doors opened to her. She got to the hospital, and walked to the counter.
"Excuse me, is Crissy Macer available right now?"
"May I ask if you have an appointment miss-"
The polite lady was cut off by a loud voice coming from behind Alex who was instantly recognized by the both of them, the owner of that loud sharp voice.
"Alexandra!! How nice of you to visit! Do you need anything? Are you ok? Come to my office, come on!"
She gently grabbed Alex by the wrist, and dragged her away to her office, then quickly closed the door behind her, and turned around. She already knew what Alex wanted before she even said it.
"Sick-leave?"
"Yeah... Horrible night, I have one heck of a hangover."
"Oh my, that's horrible. I mean, it's good to finally hear that you're going out at night to have some fun, but horrible haha. Here, take this, it'll make you feel better. And drink some more water, that always helps with hangovers haha, trust me, I know!"
James's face was stuck in Alex's head. He had such beautiful eyes, they looked... peaceful. She had to admit it though, James didn't look like a person who would bother himself with a stranger. "Alex.." She could still hear him calling her name. "Lexie~" He knows her nickname?
"Alexandra!!"
"Hu- what? Oh! Damn... I'm sorry."
"You zoned out for a second, hun. Everything alright?"
"I- I'm sorry. It's just... I met this guy, and... I don't know he's... you know? Ugh... I can't think properly right now..."
"Ooh Lala~ Are you cheating on your boyfriend?"
Alex looked down on the ground with a really broken expression, and Crissy immediately apologized.
"I'm so sorry... I didn't mean to-"
