___________________________________James didn't want to do it. He knew he wasn't good with pep talks but he went outside anyway to look for Tyler. James caught him just in time to get in a taxi with his girlfriend's ex.
"What are you doing?"
"We need to talk. You gave the impression that you're going for good. Now... I get the feeling, I understand it... And maybe that might be what you need right now, but it's not what she needs."
"And you just left her there at the hotel by herself?"
"She's asleep. I'm no good with this sort of thing but... She doesn't want you gone from her life."
"I know... But I'm hurting too..."
"Tell you what, if anything ever happens to me or we break up, I'll give you a call, then you can have her."
"... I'm very tempted to accept that offer..."
"You should haha or you could just be friends with her and find yourself a new girlfriend. Come to think of it... three years is a long time, you sure there isn't a lucky lady out there that's caught your eyes?"
"Not that I can thin-..."
Tyler stopped for a minute and thought carefully about his answer.
"Yes... I believe there is one... I can't believe I was so selfish.."
"It happens to people all the time. Old friend gets into contact, old feelings claw their way back out of nowhere. I've been there already."
Tyler asked the driver to stop the taxi so they could get out.
"I want to walk the rest of the way... Hope you don't mind."
James simply nodded and got out of the taxi with Tyler. They were in a busy part of the city. Full of vendors and shops everywhere they looked. As they were talking, Tyler noticed something.
"Oh... We can't be here... We have to go. Now!"
"*japanese* Hey, nigger! What did I say would happen to you if you turned up here without my money again?!"
A man, covered in tattoos, accompanied by three other men, was hastily making his way to James and Tyler. The one that called out to Tyler, and who seemed to be in charge, had a white suit on, poorly worn, with a golden necklace and watch to go with it.
"Crap... *japanese* The money's coming, Kubo. I'm this close to having it!"
"*japanese* Not good enough. We can't have people thinking the boss is getting soft for being so generous with you, now, can we? Your time's up!"
Tyler was getting a little desperate and tried reasoning a little more. James didn't know what was going on but he had a few guesses of what it might be.
"What's going on Tyler?"
"Not now! We're in serious trouble! Just shut up and follow my lead! If not, then go!"
James, being the hard head that he is, decided to take matters into his own hands and stood up for Tyler.
"What do you guys want with him?"
The men stared at him in amusement.
"*japanese* Find yourself a bodyguard, Tyler?"
James didn't let Tyler respond to the man's question, and told them that they were leaving. Kubo became furious and started yelling some nonsense about disrespecting him, followed by something that made Tyler stop walking.
"Oh, what now?"
"H-he threatened to k-kill us..."
James looked annoyed by the threat which greatly annoyed Kubo.
"You speak english?"
"Little."
"What's this about?"
"Tyler owe Yakuza money!"
James didn't give it a second thought and said he'd pay them later that night. There was some arguing on the matter but they allowed James and Tyler to go away.
"500,000,000¥, man? Really?"
"I have a small gambling problem hehe... Do you have that kind of money on you to pay them?"
"No."
"Oh, I knew it! We're dead! They're going to find us, torture us and make examples of us! Jesus, they probably have someone following us right now!"
"Two of them actually. I'll take care of them, you go home and quit your gambling. Get your life straight!"
"You have my word! I'm goin' and you'll never hear about this again! Like, seriously!"
Tyler's new friend watched as he got himself a taxi and rode away while James disappeared into the crowd, becoming invisible to his pursuers.
James used the bit of money he had to buy a black scarf. As soon as he had it, he was ready to begin his new mission to get Tyler the money he needed.
James bought the scarf to cover his mouth and identity as he got the money for the yakuza. He began by asking around to see if anyone knew anywhere at all that the yakuza had operations. James ended up in a warehouse where he was told women were being illegally sold into prostitution.
He entered the warehouse from above landing on one of the guards, permanently crippling him. He cleared the warehouse in less than 30 minutes, freed the women, took the money they had there, which was more than enough money he needed, then hit up five other prostitution warehouses.
James avoided killing anyone because of Alex. To her killing was wrong and he knew how she felt about it, but it was one of the things he did best! So when there was no choice, some heads did roll. James traveled by rooftop, it was easier that way and he could leave the large amount of money in one spot as he went after the other warehouses.
He got shot once or twice. It was unavoidable for anyone to not get shot in a situation like his. Towards the end of the night, James stormed into the towering building of Toshihiro Kazuo, the man in charge of it all. He was sitting behind his desk, calmly looking at the dark masked figure in front of him. James was angry and made no efforts to conceal his identity by changing his voice. The scarf was enough. Throwing a duffle bag of money on the Kazuo's desk, James stated,
"This is what I managed to do with an entire afternoon. Think about what I could do if I dedicated my time."
The man put down the pen he had in hand and opened the duffle bag on his desk then looked back at James in disgust! In the bag was 500,000,000¥ along with the severed head of Kubo and the main people in charge of the warehouses.
"In there is the money a man named Tyler owes you. Don't come after me, and don't-"
Suddenly, a security guard ran into the room from some other door James was not aware of, and started shooting him. He didn't hear the man coming! James wasn't paying attention to anything else, only Kazuo. The security guard was left alone after he ran out of bullets to shoot at James.
The head of the yakuza guaranteed, in english, that no harm would come to James or anyone he knew during the short time he was to stay in Japan. He also warned James not to interfere with his business again.
There was a pretty serious tension between James and the powerful man behind his desk for a few long seconds. Just like that, the deal was made!
James went back to the hotel but threw away his bullet riddled scarf and jacket before going into their room to find Alex still asleep in bed. He cleaned himself up and then joined his girlfriend in bed.
Back at the stormed building the most powerful man in all of Japan spoke to his secretary in a calm tone, insuring that he was still in control of the situation. He said in japanese,
"Open a new file."
"What would you like it to be called, Mr. Kazuo?"
"... 怪物。"
