___________________________________After telling James what had just happened, he chuckled a little over the surprise he was given.
"So you're a volleyball player? Haha."
"Was a volleyball player. I was the MVP too. *smirks*"
"It's kinda strange for your coach to be calling out of no where."
"Oh, it wasn't her idea. It was my former teammate, Tatsumi."
"Hmm, I see. So are you gonna spend Christmas there?"
"Not really, maybe spend a little time with them, play a little volleyball so you can see me in action haha. And it's a lot better too, free food, no need to decorate. But maybe we'll need to buy stuff for the gift exchange. Party's today at five."
"Hmm? But it's not even Christmas Eve yet."
"Many are leaving on Christmas Eve to spend the holidays away soooo."
"Ah, I see."
With that being said, there was still a lot of time before the party, so James and Alex decided to get a present for the gift exchange. James tried his best to refuse Alex's offer of joining the exchange along the way. Despite his best efforts, he knew Alex would never budge so he gave up on trying.
"C'mon! It's not that bad! It's not like you'll die from it!"
"It's unnecessary... And stupid! Why do I have to give them gifts? It's not like they did anything for me."
"Do you need a reason to give me a present?"
"Well-"
"That's what I thought. *flips hair*"
"*Sigh* Where to?"
"A sports shop."
"A wha- why?"
"Might as well give someone a volleyball, hehe."
After getting the presents for the Christmas party, Alex and James went back home to wait out the remaining time until the party. James took this chance to ask more about Alex's past and her relationship with volleyball.
"Yay!! Finally home!"
Alex almost had no time to remove her shoes when James swept her off her feet and walked towards the couch. As much as she liked the sensation. She questioned James actions.
"Tell me more about your high school volleyball team days."
They were both on the couch now. Alex sitting on James's thighs and leaning back on his chest.
"Well~ Since you wanna know, I guess I could tell you about my glory days, haha. Being the ace of the team wasn't easy you know."
"What's an ace?"
"Alright, I'm just gonna pretend you didn't say that."
"I'm serious."
"Uh, oh.. *Tsk* I was the MVP. Took me a while to get that position honestly. A lot of powerful and talented players were more than fit for that position. But... You know what they say; hard work pays off."
"Haha, I guess it does."
James enjoyed listening to his girlfriend's stories about her past. Not only did he like the fact that she was really enjoying herself, the feeling of knowing more about your lover is quite pleasant. But just like anything, there is a limit. Alex fell asleep on James just like that, he couldn't blame her. Anyone would be exhausted from all the recent events piling up like they did. Alex had been having a hard time getting a good amount of sleep too, despite the fact that some of the times they did it before sleep.
